I'm gonna be the devil's advocate/unpopular opinion on here. I think this song is boring af.  I feel like it goes nowhere and has a forgettable chorus. It sounds like a song you put in the background and it just plays and it's kinda just there as background music.

I get that, but when it hits, it hits.

I rediscovered it last month and I understand now why it was placed at the beginning of the tracklist.

Best song on the standard edition. Second best with all tracks included. 

 

A career highlight ngl. Easily a top 20 track in her discography.

There’s too much space in the first part of the chorus. I like the lyrics (for the most part) but the production is just dull; a boring beige instead of an intense, passionate maroon.
