I really like Houdini, it just won’t be a commercial hit in the US.  Training Season also sounds like it isn’t for the charts! Maybe it’s her art era, not for the charts!

I told yall Houdini would not click in the US. From the sound, to the faceless lyrics to the boring mv...it just wasn't going to connect. I personally LOVE the song and I ADORE the instrumental but this is clearly the type of song that works in Europe more so than the US. 

The lyrics imo were another problem imo. They were so bland? Like yes some of the lyrical choices on FN could also be described as uninspired but at least she had little quirckie moments on Levitating or Don't Stop Now etc which caught your attention...Houdini's only memorable line is "time is passing like a solar eclipse" and maybe the fact she says Houdini which is a unique name I guess? But yeah...the theme is very very vanilla and idk...I think the public is thirsting for more out of Dua? The rushed mv was also an issue I think...videos dont do anything for songs anymore but if its a solid mv it can really help and Houdini's mv is just bland. 

Anyways, I think the song served its purpose overall. It became a global hit (not a smash but a proper hit) and it set the tone for what to expect from this album sonically (a darker dancier pop sound) so in that sense it is a proper success. Now let's hope something on DL3 connects with american audiences...and if it doesn't it's ok too. Dua has always been a global force and she will always smash in certain markets so it's all good

Training Season sounds like another FN baby, I do hope it has a bit of edge to it like Houdini. It seems like the GP likes similar sounds from Dua. I mean DTN and Levitating are almost the same song

Levitating is her best song so of course her daughter would be a smasha

No most likely, the only reason it got a boost this week was because of the Grammys and they sent the physicals out
