Harry is on break, Justin hasn't released. Is now a good time for Shawn to make a comeback? And can he?

 

I know his past 2 actual singels Summer of Love and When You're Gone were for his standards underwhelming but does he have potential to come back with a hit?

I think if he buckles down, sorts himself out mentally and emotionally, and truly focuses on making something that captures attention, then yes. 

 

As a stan I cannot pretend that his relationship with Camila wasn’t overall damaging. The public was there for it at first but the narrative quickly became too seen and there was too much of them together to the point it got stale. Couple that with the poor decision to release Wonder—what I think is an amazing album, maybe his best, but very poorly handled—right in the middle of the period where his label was in a state of change and openly declaring to their artists that they couldn’t do big promo tours and that album and those droplets were never going to succeed. 

 

He had a shot with the tour as it contrary to stan narrative had indeed sold well, but his mental health got in the way. Those mental health issues were always there, he’d been talking about them for years, but the above happenings just really amped those issues up.

 

He clearly lost a lot of passion and interest for what he does for a little bit. Despite Wonder being great, it got no help from the label and he was personally not motivated to pull the extra weight. 
 

Word is from sources close to him that he’s done a lot of mental health work the last year and a half and that he’s acting more like his old self, but that it could still be a bit before he makes an album. To me the stage is set for a comeback story if that’s the case. 

 

But it will live and die by him actually having his heart in it again. If he can continue the upward trajectory of quality self-titled and Wonder had and combine it with the drive and interest in succeeding and doing it right he had in the Illuminate era, then yes. 

He’s a big enough name to score a nice little comeback hit if he gives the label a decent song to payola on radio and playlisting. After that… I couldn’t say. 

Unless he gets a viral tik tok hit, no. His career is stagnant af at this point.

I could see it. He's still quite young and is a remarkably well-known name for being a pop boy with like 5 hits.

Literally anybody can make a comeback with the right material.

He needs a whole creative rebrand. New look, new aesthetic, new sound, and ultimately, he needs the right promo, which I doubt his label will give him.
