Because it's not even the best bop on the album. It's cute but Strip Tease, Bad Girl and Pretty Boy >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

It's crazy when you realize that they had a #1 album and Pussycat Dolls never did

Damaged is still that bop

What’s even more crazy is they would’ve sold more if the label believed in them. They only shipped out 75k and they sold out in like a day and they had to scramble to ship more and they sold 234k. They likely would’ve sold over 300k if they had enough albums in stores to begin with.

then add to the fact they barely released any singles and when they and didn’t have support from the label. They likely would’ve had more hits if they released more than 2 singles an album

Literally the perfect girl group. Such a shame Diddy ****** them over and they were so messy and couldn’t get along

Maybe I'm just a bad girl, a bad girl Dancing Queen Happy Dance GIF

It’s a shame Diddy sabotaged them and then they couldn’t get it together on their own when they had a second chance.

I'm still not over them breaking up; this is something I'm still upset over. :psyduck: I love what Dawn Richard has done in her solo career, though, but Danity Kane would have released three more albums in a perfect world. I just love the artistic chemistry they all had; they certainly had a magic that a group hasn't been able to recapture since.

Not to mention they have the BEST interludes: Secret Place, Come Over, and Flashback :alexz:

wait. damaged went number TEN??? i didn't realize they actually had some success

I want a full version of Secret Place so baaaaad

wild!!!!

Never could take this commercial models seriously. Still can't.

Danity Kane's trajectory was so unfortunate because they served vocals, looks and popstar choreography. Their reunion started with great material and even better live performances. The Lemonade breakdown alone !!

I miss my girls. I still hate Diddy for ending the group.

I discovered the girls late, just when DK3 was released.

They're so underrated! This is my fave:

They are such a triggering topic for me. To this day and forever I fear.

As @LesFleur rightfully said, they had it all. It's almost too good to be true. But instead of being too good to be true, they were too good to last.

Not even to get too deep with it, but I really think a psychological study ought to go into their story.

The ladies have generally been open about the fact that being manufactured and in competition mode on a TV show is a dynamic that never quite left. And it makes TOTAL sense.

5 girls who essentially were capable of being leads - if not in this group, then a group. It's pretty unheard of in Pop. Most groups from Destiny's Child to PCD had a centralized lead and thus the group worked because everyone knew their position.

Add to that the fact they were being starved of coin and treatment befitting of their Platinum records they were selling (all of which is well documented in various interviews) and the stage was set for them to regress into dog eat dog mode. Competition over leads, fury over preferential treatment, and just general misery at the disconnect between their fame and what they have to show for it makes it crystal clear how things crumble.

I generally like Diddy, but there will forever be a dent in his mogul armour in letting DK disintegrate. He had in his hands the biggest group since Destiny's Child and one with the potential to be one of the greatest ever, a supergroup so to speak...and he fumbled it. Because of greed and mismanagement. There is nothing genius or boss about that. It's a huge stain on his claim to being this iconic honcho.

DK is the type of group you pump your all into and run at a $$$ loss with a bigger picture in mind because the path they were on would have seen them make everything back and then some as a live act.

Edit: they definitely have a hand in their demise too. Because, as much as the above holds true (i.e them being setup to fail), the had enough time to grow, learn from their issues before, and get their ish together come the time of DK4/DK3. The disintegration of those groups is purely on them and their problematic personalities IMO. Not sure I’ll ever forgive them for us not getting a Lemonade video, at least.

For the DK inclined: these two interviews really spill the tea in the most candid way.

Dawn typically kisses Diddy's a** a lot (given their sometimes on-sometimes off creative relationship), so it's usually hard to get a clear tea from her. However, this was one instance when she really went..."there" and just spilled everything. So, so, SO insightful.

Aubrey can be annoying as hell and in many ways sadly went on to prove Diddy right about the path she was heading down (cheesy reality and p*rn with not much musically to show for it), BUT that doesn't negate the fact she's a smart girl and has been consistently frank about what went down. This latest interview was really illuminating when it comes to DK's situation. Past and present.
