When I joined ATRL I was very surprised seeing some many Kelly stans and just her being talked so often here, she has been totally irrelevant in LatAM since idk 2006 maybe.

Her talkshow is definitely local, but honestly I don't think musically she is that local especially not for an 'Idol' winner. Breakaway was a very global era and her success post that album has been very inconsistent everywhere including in the US, its not like she smashes in the US and then nowhere else. 

 

At the very least she is very known & remembered in my country Australia

she isn't even a thing in the US anymore

a local is like Allday (only known in one country) Kelly Clarkson is known worldwide. 

In my birth home Breakaway, Miss Independent, Since U Been Gone, Behind These Hazel Eyes, Because of You, My Life Would Suck Without You, Stronger were massive hits. 

No. She has a handful of moderate hits.

Here in Brazil she was big with "Because of You" and then died. But I think she even did a concert here in the last decade.

 

The thing with Brazil is that even Kyle can hit a concert and you watch the videos people sing all the lyrics and you think WOW SHE IS FAMOUS THERE lol but it is more to do if u put the acts in a small venue and promote it. Hell even Iggy has a carreer here lol.

 

I guess here was one of the last places Banks could do several concerts, but she lost part of her little audience after talking badly about the country and her fans here.

 

Now, Taylor always seemed so local to the US, but she sould out a full week on a stadium here. Keep on mind our economy is coming out of the deep end. So it is inpressive she pulled it off.

MLWSWY wasnt a hit here when her most well-known song was BOY then that's all you should know how local she is. my december destroyed her oversea career and continue up to this very day.

She is only popular in my country (Southeast Asia) during Breakaway. After that era she had a niche fanbase but she's never popular anymore

Breakaway was a global era. Kelly Clarkson (as an artist, overall) is not global

Not exactly. I wouldn't call Kelly, the celebrity, a big household name where I am, but she's definitely had some massive hits outside of the US (Stronger, Mr. Know It All, Since U Been Gone).

 

Her celebrity is local, but her music isn't. If that makes sense.

She wasn't local in the Breakaway era but outside of that she's had a handful of hits outside of the US (Stronger and My Life Would Suck Without You are the two that come to mind).

 

Underneath the tree is becoming a Christmas classic too
