Do we live in the craziest decade/time?

Featured Replies

?

How would you react if 4 years ago you were told that there would be a global pandemic that changed everything, a full blown war in Europe, artificial intelligence taking over everything earlier than expected, officials admitting that aliens are real, much worsening global warming?

What is next?

  • I mean if you look at the scope of humanity we have the best standard of living of any population basically ever. I feel like it would be crazier times in the feudal era or something

Social media is what makes this generation worse imo. Other than that, we’ve came a long way.

This is really giving conservative conspiracy theorist.

Is it crazy we have all information in the world at our fingertips, that minorites are getting rights, and that a woman is about to FINALLY be President of the United States?

I think living in times where people practiced human sacrifice and thought you could cure disease by bloodletting was way crazier.

I mean we had a massive pandemic in 2009 and 2001. And we were in2 Back to back wars in the Middle East, a Recession, a Housing Market crash, record breaking inflation, ect. We grew up in some pretty messed up times, the internet just makes us way more aware and relevant to the changing new world 🤷‍♀️

And that’s just the last 20 years. Let alone when ish was really bad last century

We certainly are living in crazy times, but not the craziest of times. I really am surprised, though, that talk of aliens has been what it has been for the past several years. It used to be confined to science fiction and those Area 51 documentaries on TV, but now the government is really talking about and being somewhat open regarding it all. I wonder why the change. :ryan2:

Maybe on terms of news it is the craziest time, but our actual lifes experiences are pretty boring (at least comparing to the past) so no.

No. The 1740s or whatever were probably worse.

Still sucks tho.

All of human history has been pretty chaotic and people have always thought the world is about to end as they know it- and sometimes it does!

It's crazy to think people deny the pandemic and alt-right thinking being repopularized

No. Even looking at modern history you can see how frequently the craziness ramp up after a while.

I mean...there was a time where it was socially acceptable to murder women because men thought they were witches, so no
