Mariah for all. People who say otherwise are either delusional or weren't alive in 2008.

  • I know a lot of people have a problem saying this but Beyonce has outlasted Mariah in terms of longevity    The discussion might be back and forth because Mariah had more smashes in the 90s

Worldwide Renaissance.    Mariah's mid 00's albums were very US centric.

And also REN (released in July) was the #17 best selling album of 2022 on IFPI, E=MC2 (released in April) did not make to the top 20 in 2008, it was #26.

Renaissance by default. E=MC2 is one of Mariah’s worst projects.

Touch My Body was a legit HIT. These Beyonce songs don’t compare.

touch my body is a bigger hit than any REN single, but the REN singles are bigger than E=MC2 singles overall

also REN clearly the bigger and more global album, beyonce bigger starpower and celebrity status

people who say otherwise are either delusional or weren't alive in 2008

B bigger everything

But if you would have asked which one is better E=MC2 would have won by far

Renaissance

Touch My Body/Bye Bye

Beyoncé

Touch My Body was SUCH a moment. Literally one of my all time favorite songs and videos to this day.

I lived and loved the era but it wasn’t that big. BMS going number 1 and especially Cuff it going viral + the tour + the acclaim makes RENAISSANCE win by far.

TMB was number 1 in America, while 4 Minutes was top 3 only, but in the end 4 minutes ended up a bigger hit

Bye bye, the second single flopped, I thought it was a cringe & terrible single choice (the theme of the sing is great for an album track but if you’re trying to milk that theme for the charts it’s a no no)

II’ll be loving u flooped completely

I stay in love flopped completely

Of course not releasing Migrate was a massive mistake #timelesstune

Beyoncé clears in performance, but as an album I prefer E=MC².
