why not wait until end of July, when SN (TV) era stops dominating?  it's almost like she wants to block Enchanted from reaching #1. which is odd cause SN is her favorite Taylor album. i

She's so desperate to block Enchanted TV   Hopefully Swifties and the GP pull through and end her mediocre copy cat ass

    Y’all acting like she’s 40 or something

Not her having me a bit hyped for her comeback. Love that it's with the producer/writer of her first album. My expectations are high for this to be a slay :duca:

Taylor was her idol but then when deja vu was released, she said the shouting part of the bridge ("I know you get Deja Vu!") was inspired by Cruel Summer

"I love ‘Cruel Summer.’ That’s one of my favorite songs ever. I love the yell-y vocal in it, the harmonized yells she does. I feel like they’re super electric and moving, so I wanted to do something like that.”

Taylor, Jack, or their team (but lets be real we all know who's in charge) demanded Olivia to give them songwriting credit for those five words and Olivia's team basically accepted their demands to prevent a lawsuit. That cost Olivia millions in royalties.

So Olivia went from constantly praising Taylor to never mentioning her or interact with her ever again

oh, I heard some of these but I didn't know it was that serious :deadbanana: olivia has always been a HUGE swiftie and I was actually wondering why she stopped talking about taylor lately

The third paragraph and closing line there are mostly conjecture. In reality, it's more likely that it was Jack Antonoff's publishers who requested the credit, and we don't know anything about how Olivia or her team felt or if a lawsuit was actually on anyone's mind. As far as I know - and I haven't really kept up super closely, but as you can imagine, it comes up now and then in Swiftie spaces - Olivia and those around her actually seem more upset at Hayley Williams and Paramore for the whole Good 4 U/Misery Business thing (which articles seemed to take more seriously) than for a quiet credit adjustment on Deja Vu. Even then, we don't really know anything material. I think this song has a pretty good chance of making literally nothing clearer about either situation.

I think leaping to the conclusion that it's about any of the artists involved in Sour's various overblown plagiarism claims is just stans wanting the drama, wanting something to feed their attention spans. I think that it could end up being a vague allusion to some figure she looked up to feeding off her work in a way that she found unfair, probably without actually saying who - but it could just as easily be about a romantic relationship, about a toxic friendship, or even about herself! Wouldn't anyone, after multiple allegations of plagiarism that they felt were unfounded, feel a little persecuted? Maybe feel a little bit like a "vampire" as people accuse you of succeeding by using other people's work, feel that kind of imposter syndrome situation that comes with questioning your own integrity and ability and place in your field? That would be such an interesting side of the subject for her to cover and a brilliant way to flip the script. Society loves pitting women against each other, but I think Olivia is smart enough to turn the situation on its head and avoid playing into all that. (I get that this idea doesn't fit the single cover, but hey, it's just a single cover.)

@Taeyong "Vampire" should be in double quotes in the thread title since it's a song, not album.

i was bite in the neck by the one i trusted

the one i wanted, the one i wanted to be

you live in a constant deja vu

by the way you love recycling through your past

cause you are a vampire

you got 9 lives and you keep sucking all your minions dry

haven't you already lived through this era of your life

but you do look cute when you step in the light all bejeweled

cause you're a vampire

We're not funing. It's actually fun .

From the title to the colour Purple One week before speak now of course She Is playing with It. It's fun. Of course Taylor Is Always at the centre of pop culture discourse.

Others are doing so called tour of the years only the fans talk about.

So now “vampire” is a reference to Taylor. Sweet Jesus! :toofunny3:

If it's like driver license i won't be as excited

if it's like her rockier stuff then i'll maybe check it out.

Cover references that of a 1968 Dracula movie. I wonder if the music video will, too?

Hmmm, this made me think how her band-aid is in a different shape compared to that though, more specifically that it's made in an X shape... "X marks the spot where we fell apart" ?... :gaycat3:

The color scheme and TS Speak Now TV coming... hmmm a coincidence? I think not! I am ready for it

Like I said about the Idol, this song is a culture reset

People here really believe Olivia herself has anything to do with release strategies? In her second era? If anything the label insinuates anything, but I don't even buy that.

I don’t really like the cover, but I’m sure the song will be amazing. I’m still hyped!
