  1. Am I the only one remembering a flipchart that had the what came to be the "Stronger"-era summed up months before MKIA was released? I see the picture to this day stating: Album title: "The war is over" 1st single Dumb+dumb=You this has to be beginning of 2011ish way before the leaks or any official statements. And obviously before they even had Stronger or MKIA as recorded tracks. I remember discussing it but it gets never brought about again, not even in the podcast so I am not sure if it was even real at this point :-D Anyhow, I do remember how everyone loved DS when the demo came out and favoured it over WDKY. Then it somehow got lost after album release and its underperformance as a single didn't help either. I still would love to see the era played out without the leaks or there risky af single choices.
  2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42j573poiiA recently discovered this and while it is somehow trashy, I love it, specially because of the half a dozen different ways Celine pronounces inevitable
  3. I actually do not like her as a person, nor do I particularly like her voice, BUT the quality of her output has won me over the last few years. Hated her during the first few eras, then loved the majority of RED, grew neutral during 1989, then loved some parts of Reputation, totally lost her again during Folklore and Evermore and then absolutely loved Anti-Hero, like an all time favorite song, same as the whole album. Poets department is a bit lukewarm for me, so I guess my love-hate relationship with her will continue.
  4. Tbh, PxP had the last laugh. despite all the hate it was getting, HBS and PxP are among her most successful songs (HBS is still very frequently heard in Europe, as is PxP in the US I guess). It imo was the last era that felt very Kelly, if you know what I mean even though it was cut short. Maybe because it was the last time she did some proper promo at least in the beginning.
  5. The rollout this era was just terrible. I mean, I like it when there isn't 6 months of waiting from first single to album release, but 3 months just wasn't enough. They should have released Get him back end of August with proper promo throughout the fall and the album end of October, beginning of november.
  6. Save Rock Hudson Down to you Red Flag Collector Off: My mistake Chemistry
  7. After two weeks I can honestly say, the album has 4-5 all time faves of her (DTY; RH, RFC, HR, FKOH), but also a few ones I won't listen to more than 5-6 times ever again tbh (Chemistry, MM). I would put it at #3 behind BA and Stronger.
  8. Save: Down to you Rock Hudson Red Flag Collector Off: Chemistry My mistake I hate love
  9. The song itself is great but the production this era is really not on point. Sorry, I need her to get new producers, it's been long enough
  10. People here really believe Olivia herself has anything to do with release strategies? In her second era? If anything the label insinuates anything, but I don't even buy that.
  11. Production is very 80s I love it. Sounds nothing like UD to me This will be an all time fave of mine for the notes in the bridge alone.
  12. Lighthouse sounds phenomenal, so does My mistake and Rock Hudson Magic sounds great too. Not buying Chemistry atm
  13. I think this isn't doing too badly tbh. Atlantic clearly try to push her on streaming while focusing on her chore fans and giving them multiple versions of the album plus live events for the project to earn $$$. For us fans it is really cool to see so much going on simultaneously, she is giving us insights in the project far more than with every other project since Stronger. And we are still 2 months away. Plus I really think they are going to push this longer than they did with MOL, wouldn't be surprised to have a live album deluxe by Christmas tbh. Not a huge fan of TKCS but this is gold, she is going to stay relevant and do her own album promotion as long and as intense as she likes (even if that doesn't work out, it's still fanservice.) I mean we got a 20 minute album announcement interview, who else does that really.
  14. Anything but Top 3 would be really bad let's be real. Who else is releasing that week? I really don't understand how and why Adele has all this and Kelly has not :-/
  15. 1. MLWSWY 2. HBS 3. Mine 4. UTT 5. BA 6. Mr. KIA 7. MI 8. NA 9. LSS 10. CIC I am not judging the songs themselves but lead single potential. MLWSWY and HBS are exactly what I expect a lead single to be, especially in the 00s and 10s. Mine ist smart a swell I think. Same as UTT. The rest were not the best choices for the lead imo.
  16. The fandom has basically wanted to have another type of lead for years, now they're giving us a ballad you want an empowerment anthem? Like, really? It's the divorce album, they need to have that kind of song as the lead. Plus we're living in a climate where Driver's license kind of songs can smash hard, that is entirely different than 4-5 years ago, so let's wait and see. Trustfall is basically a good example here: They pushed for a "safe" kind of lead and heavily tanked, but Trustfall the song is doing somehow ok (at least it seems to give the album some legs which is exactly what I'd wish for for this era). Push the lead and promote the hell out of it in release week, then do Vegas, then take some weeks off and let the album have a bit of legs hopefully, then come back in fall promote single #2 and do some touring in summer 2024. That would be the ideal era imo.
