Idk, but WYP, Free Yourself and Pearls are all amazing. I don't understand the lack of geepee support for ha. My guess is ageism from radio and a lack of awareness outside of the UK.

Jessie def does not have a "cool" or "IT" appeal.

She's good with her fanbase and is not going anywhere in terms of commercial success, but she does not need it tbh.

 

Also that sound is very early 2020 and we're in 2023. The GP has moved on.

New stuff isn’t as instant as her WYP stuff, but also she’s never been a commercial success.

Unfortunately every time she has success with a genre she seems to make a more generic version as a follow up in hopes of wider appeal…

 

WYP was a much needed breath of fresh air after Glasshouse. I’m hoping the new album isn’t a watered down WYP.

She may make good music but she’s boring and I’m sure ageism plays a part too

I think she has ended up dominating a niche space within gay music (like Charli XCX etc.) which leads gays to think she's bigger than she really is.

 

Love Jessie but unfortunately she is an older woman in a pop landscape that isn't welcoming to new women over the age of 30. She deserves so much more success.

Also, she and her label aren't even trying to attain any major commercial success or hits. Jessie is perfectly fine with releasing for her fanbase, which in turn allows her to serve "arts not charts" excellence. Not every artist needs to smash
