Yes. Simply put, they cannot praise her without mentioning her success, as if everything is a popularity contest. As a casual fan of Taylor and hundreds of other artists, I find it disgusting.

Me, individually, as an African American and Latino person who enjoys Taylor’s music — I am not upholding white supremacy. The institution that literally enslaved and colonized the people and land of my ancestors, the repercussions of which my family, my culture, my people, are all still feeling to this day.

I’m not denying that the principles behind white supremacy can be reinforced by minorities as well. What I AM denying is that Swifties as a fanbase are doing that just by being fans of her music. Like, I don’t care how much you dislike her or us, I really wish you would stop trivializing the seriousness of white supremacy by injecting it into petty stan wars.

Yes only Swifties care about numbers, it's just this one fanbase every other base has never used numbers as an arguement ever. 

It’s a fanbase that mostly just keeps to itself.  It will defend its fav like all fanbases.  
 

But you rarely see a swiftie here just outright starting a troll thread and when you do, swifties are often among the first to call them out on that in the thread.  
 

The major difference is Swifties just have magnitude.  There are more of them than any other fanbase (aside from maybe the monsters).

You should see other fanbases when their fav. Gets an ounce of success.  I recall a lot of threads about Beyoncé’s success this summer and like a daily thread about bloody Mary’s streaming numbers this last fall.  If anything, swifties seem a little calm will the amount of success their fav gets probably cause they are used to it. 

Y'all hate Swifties *in particular* because Taylor Swift is by far the most relevant artist in the last couple years (which makes a lot of people mad) and because as a result Swifties are more prevalent here. Let's be real

They did more than just the bolded, but I’m not going to get into the psychological reasons as to why you reinforce white supremacy. It is bigger than just “petty stan wars”, and I don’t have the time.
