Miley is a better singer and songwriter so.

they're equally talented 

 

both great singers, capable of writing and great performers

 

Ariana is also good at production. We don't know about Miley's production skills so I won't use this as a metric.

Miley, but Ariana is also insanely talented.

 

Looking at their careers, I'd say Miley is underrated as a songwriter. People usually think she's getting cute minor co-writing credits here and there, but most of her greatest songs are coming from her self-written material. Her songwriting credit history goes beyond the lyrics and melodies too, she's heavily involved (and credited!) in the creating process of the music and production of Dead Petz, Younger Now and Plastic Hearts. A singer, songwriter, producer, performer and most importantly, a risk-taker with a diverse discography.

Miley. Not only does she have a certain edge to her that Ariana lacks, but she also has an incredible voice. Not saying Ariana doesn’t, she clearly does, but there’s just something different about Mileys voice. Miley also has insane stage presence and I can’t say I’ve ever been truly captivated by a single performance by Ariana.

Agreed, The stage presence is the difference as someone who's seen both live.

I haven’t seen Ariana live yet (i would like to) but I saw Miley on the Bangerz tour and honestly she was otherworldly. I’ve never been so entertained by a concert before or after that. 

Miley by far. Love her voice.

Miley with ease. She can sing and aside from being a miles better performer, she’s a way better actress even if Miley’s a mid one
