Is this Madonna's latest comeback?

Featured Replies

The hype around this tour has been pretty insane (as a humongous fan, I myself am low key shocked). She's selling out shows almost instantaneously, and even added shows are instantly becoming sellouts. There are many articles being written about what she represents for the pop world, women, and the gay community. Her streams keep rising.

Is 2023 Madonna's year? Will this be her newest career peak? Could she even get another hit out of this momentum?

It's Madonna, one of the biggest pop music legends who's been around for decades and who will sell out an entire tour anywhere in the world even with no recent hits.

Yeah, and if everything end alright,  the demand for another tour after this tour end could be even bigger.

I am so pissed I missed the cheaper tickets :gaycat7:

And she has yet to announce South America (where she is MASSIVE!!!) and Asia tour dates :jonnycat:

This.

Nothing is shocking about this lol. What’s more shocking to me is that people would actually even THINK a Madonna tour would NOT instantly be a hit.

Rebel Heart was NOT instantly a hit, and don't come at me with box office numbers, I was at the Detroit show where there were rows and rows of empty seats. :rip:

That tour had a very similarly structured itinerary where it was clear additional shows were meant to be added but didn't pan out.

Also, Madame X had tons of empty seats both nights when I saw it in LA.

Detroit was sold out so idk what this post was about. You seeing tons of empty seats doesn’t really mean…anything.

That being said, there’s is also a boost cause of the branding of it being a GH tour.

It's Madonna and 40th anniversary tour, so the demand for her greatest hits is there.

they always advertise and report as "sold out" even if theyre not

I wouldn't call it a comeback but it's hilarious how she's doing back to back to dates and still selling them out when we have been endlessly told here how no one cares, no one streams, etc etc etc

This, c'mon now :rip: It's clear this is a much bigger demand than she's had in years. Arguably since the Confessions Tour. I'm excited for her!

EVERY tour she has done has ended up being a resounding success! But yes, the 40th Anniversary / Greatest Hits angle has obviously resulted in brisker ticket sales...

I find it quite sad, actually.

She used to sell out huge stadiums just 10ish years ago with RIT, Confessions, Sticky & Sweet... now for her big Greatest Hits tour it's only small arenas.

If she announced a Celebration Tour 10-15 years ago it would send the ticket buyers into a frenzy.

Yup, it doesn't seem to be the smash they expected it to be.

The damage she did to her brand with her behavior is quite sad to see. She used to be an institution of pop.

Are you talking about the current tour? Girl the shows have all basically sold out already and they went on sale this morning :toofunny2:

Am I the only one that isn't that surprised that the tour is doing this well? She's the best selling female artist of all time and has the highest grossing tour for a female too, this tour was expected to be huge since it's her first in 3 years and first in arenas since the rebel heart tour

exactly. it always brings me joy when people give her her (very much deserved) flowers.

the GP has given her so much backlash over the last few years. maybe the GP is ready to acknowledge her legendary status once again. :gaydonnacat1:

Considering her age and having no hits since Obama was president I'm inclined to believe she's already smashing.

Stadiums for the Re-Invention Tour and the Confessions Tour? What is it that you're doing sweetie? Cause it must be real good. She played only 2 stadiums for the Confessions Tour and exactly zero for the Re-Invention Tour.

Also… "Just 10ish years ago." The RIT was 19 years ago. The Confessions Tour was 17 years ago.

Most of the arenas she's doing this year are the same, OR BIGGER, than the ones she played for these tours.

She could easily sell out stadiums if she wanted to considering the huge demand there is for the Celebration Tour.

I feel for there to be a comeback, one would need new music and I don't think there is any on the horizon from Madonna.

It's being sold as a Madonna farewell greatest hits tour so it's no surprise it's an instant smash. She's selling out as fast if not faster than Taylor Swift and the kpop groups. Madonna is a legend for a reason.

In the vanity fair article she said that’s it’s a really inspiring time for her at the moment. She’s continuing on with the film, writing and recording music so going off that I’d expect an album this year or next
