I don't see what is suspicious. It would be suspicious if for example it was a case like Sabrina's Nonsense where the huge number surge was happening on only one platform (Spotify) but in Miley's case it is happening on all streaming platforms, sales and radio. It checks out.

I knew she would do well, but wasn’t expecting her song to be this massive out the gate. But Spotify has been growing insanely fast the past few months

the song is #1 on every metric, it's being talked about everywhere and has viral video after viral video on social media

I don't think so. Miley didn't come out of nowhere - she's attached to a lot of people's childhoods/adolescence so her popularity has been there. She just hasn't released material that's really stuck since 2013 until Plastic Hearts. Even though that era didn't smash, it re-built her sound + image and helped regain a lot of people's interest. I think it was a perfect storm of that and people's interest in the narrative around her breakup.

Oh my god. The amount of people questioning Miley's success is... You guys are delusional. How many "random" hits are there in a year? A lot. Why questioning a successful, respected and beloved singer like Miley? You guys just hate women. Just because she's been "flopping" and now has had a commercial comeback?

I don't find them suspicious. And one thing to keep in mind is that Spotify is adding new users like CRAZY these days. They're announcing results later this month and I think we'll see a good jump in users.

What’s suspicious about a song from a class act like Miley going and staying at #1 on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, selling 60k on iTunes in the streaming era, going mega viral on TikTok with 550,000+ videos using the official sound, and big radio adds all in just one week?

Not you acting like she's some random unknown artist who's never seen success in her life, when she's one of the most known celebrities among people 20-40 with one of the most successful TV series and characters of all time, and 15+ years of hit singles and albums including multiple classic songs

You guys did the same thing when TUN smashed this hard. The GP just loves a song about an ex that feels uplifting.

When has the GP ever quickly embraced a very critic or tastemaker-appealing song? Most instant massive GP hits are very easily digestible and "mid". Shape of You, Uptown Funk, Love Yourself, As It Was, God's Plan, All About That Bass, etc. weren't exactly groundbreaking in terms of quality.
