Girl no offense but you're looking too into this if you feel like this is a reason to stop listening to Twice. :deadbanana2:

Like if you are truly gutted and offended then sure, maybe reassess who you follow and what you're a fan of. But ultimately I would say you should go off what you think the actual intent was here, or if it was just a poor choice of wardrobe (that she removed and apologized for.) :rip:

Like if you truly believe Chaeyoung is a q-anon nazi supporter then that is your choice. But the shirt she was wearing was technically anti-nazi but thats getting too into the weeds with it. :deadbanana2:

I don't i just don't like being bashed for my music choices. That's all.

I guess you can say when it comes to my faves I'm a very sensitive person.

If they’re 18/19, why wouldn’t they be allowed to make sexual music? Like these women waited until they were adults. They have every right to be as sexual as they want to be or **** anyone of age, no matter the age gap. I’m not seeing your points here.

oh I don't care, actually :gaycat2: I just wanted to praise both songs and still be in the conversation

it's always funny to see people going off and writing pretty objective essays only for them to take a complete turn to defend their faves (company) :hoetenks:

y'all most kpop idols (and people around them) are so oblivious to stuff outside korea (see lisa for example)

they need to be called out to be educated which is sad, still can't believe these companies don't have a team in place for this kind of stuff

Or maybe we should realize that Western culture was forced on most countries globally to increase our market strength but we didn’t necessarily enforce certain aspects of our cultures and customs so it isn’t fair to hold these countries to the Western-made standards that we (try to) hold ourselves to since they have their own unique cultures and customs.

An Asian person is not “ignorant” for not following along to all the nuances of an American trend. “Appropriation” is the antithesis to what most of Asia has been looking to do, which is increase their global standing by engaging more people in their culture.

They’re not being “educated” - you’re just forcing new aspects of our culture on a group of people who have already had our culture forced on them.

In Um Junghwa's case she knew exactly what she was ready to serve and gave the people cvnt ever since :gaydonnacat1:

But Park Ji Yoon had no idea what she was really singing about until 12 years later, once she actually got into the lyrics and re-watched the video, she realized how she felt terrible about it. Even in the article I posted it mentions her feelings over it in the article with the MV

Jisoo looks so beautiful in your avi

i think the problem is that most of the times kpop stans dont even care about these serious issues they just want a reason to take someone they dont like down or win a argument in a stanwar and once they have one you better trust they are gonna use it till the end of the times.

So it doesnt really matter if idols apologize and regret doing it or not. People forget these are human beings so of course they are gonna do some dumb shyet it doesnt make them monsters.

while you are right in one way, we are talking about kpop here, which has become one of korea's biggest exports. you can think of it this way but most if not all these groups are trying to break into the western market since international success has become an important factor for these companies and korea as a whole. if we never hold our idols accountable, they would not make it out alive outside of korea :rip:
