Stopped reading this meltdown here. aespa had 1.5B digital points and 1.9M sales in 2022, several records broken and set. Get a grip.

STAYC and ITZY have been around since then (or before). aespa is certainly doing better than them.

 

They only had 1 comeback in 2022 yet only IVE managed to get more digital points in 2022 (via multiple comebacks) and the physical sales for Girls remained untouched.

 

They are not invincible, but this narrative that "aespa is over" needs to stop, it's not factually correct and just gives off pressed energy. SM put in the bare minimum last year and the girls still racked up streams and record breaking sales. The company just needs to make aespa a main focus and they will keep growing.

The “HYBE groups and IVE being vocally talentless” narrative has to stop. They just need to utilize the good vocalists more like Liz, Yujin, Chaewon and Yunjin. The NewJeans girls also have very pleasant tones and have capable singers like Haerin and Danielle.

How could they be 2021 fads?  Their studio album is going to come out in March and they’ll end up at the very least outselling and outstreaming 2022. Tea, I think at this point, its almost statistically accurate that new girl groups are much more successful around debut in good faith and flop-thereafter. Very few actually continue to gain popularity.

 

I mean we kinda already saw that this year alone with Kep1er being hyped up to oblivion with Wa Da Da just to be completely forgotten by We Fresh

They had Next Level with their concept. The main factor in selling music digitally is resonating with the public. It's not the concept its the song.

 

Girls was panned from almost everyone before it even had any chart positions to drag. Out of 4 promotions, Girls is the only one that was really universally panned and it underperformed. 

 

One bad song/underformance isn't some end all be all of a career. Next Level has more digital points than LSRF's entire career but you think they're bigger than aespa?

None of the new 2022 girls are seeing aespa unless their name is NMIXX. 
IVE sound like they have cat hair stuck in their throat in performances where the vocal backing track is bellow 70-80% 

 

And I was talking about vocal skills required in a LIVE setting. Momo and Kang Daniel also have pleasant tones (and for the later I listen to his music quite a lot) to me but I would be scared to hear either of them sing something without a heavy backing track / or a fullon prerecorded track.

I think Jisoo will make a coffee shop song, if not that then def something with a little dancing. ol girl does not like idol life and she's just doing her thing. You might not like her tone but she is quite liked in korea so we might see a cute hit.

 

And on the subject of newjeans token staners, it was just insane whiplash to actually listen to the song and watch the mv, expecting it to wow me as they do and being WILDLY underwhelmed. Like im sorry this base def overreacts to everything newjeans just cause they're smashing. I think if yall just calmed down on calling everything those girls do as the next magnum opus of kpop it wouldnt be that big of a deal. The roaring overdramatic reaction did not match how subpar the song was.
