The relationship can also benefit him, especially in the US. They love power couples. Plus She’s the one who was invited at Cannes in the first place. She speak English so she can introduce him to big people in the industry. 

All the idols flying to Cannes, if only it wasn't a mess this year, with all the unknown influencers using their sponsored brand to be there and flocking more than actual actors and movie industry people. One jury member throwing racist comments publicly, one of the organizer fighting with the police, 2 actors fighting on the red carpet.

Karina could then have been visual, sub vocal & rapper or something which is really what her actual talents are as opposed to dancing

I think the timeline is like that:

 

1. She was a Pledis trainee first

2. PD48 happened

3. A Pledis new girl group project got cancelled => she left Pledis

4. She got transferred to SM

5. She left SM and moved to America

6. She got invited by Source Music
