The only problem with the album being so close and Flowers (possibly) being a smash hit, is that the second single might not have room to grow

Late Night Talking was overshadowed by As It Was, but still managed to be a top 3 single and chart for half a year on the Hot 100, so I have faith in the second single 🙏

Wow, lately smashes have been surprising me a lot. Didn't except nor Unholy nor Flowers to smash this hard. I must be getting old

Time to make predictions about her first-week album sales. 

I think Columbia didn't expect such a success, lol.

Plus, they were based on the previous result with Plastic Hearts and did not expect (3 months since the release of the lead single).

 

It seems that they expected a cycle of at least two singles before the release of the record.

Yes, she even had that Without Remix peak at #8 during PH rollout, even though it's not on the album. 

 

Midnight Sky could've easily gone TOP10 if it's first week wasn't in such a competitive moment in the charts. RCA couldn't even get it to a T10 placement on TTH, it had minimal playlist exposure, so it was a solid debut given all circumstances.
