Stuff like Ain't it Fun is the exception for Paramore, not the rule  They've never been big hit makers, they just have a solid base + brand

Honestly....it's that Hailey's voice is annoying/grating for most people. I remember Hard times coming on the radio and being told to change it because she sounded awful. 

Paramore are a great band but much of the GP has boxed them into a certain era and won't stream any new song of theirs unless it sounds like the sonic equivalent of heat-damaged fringe being swept dramatically to the side.

They're generally respected though so they'll always do fine in the long run.

This could honestly be its own thread

1. they were never really THAT huge commercially, they have enjoyed a lot of success over the years but it's not like they're one of the best selling bands of all time

 

2. they peaked with Self-Titled commercially and even before then most of their hits had been slow-burners, they are not known for frontloaded smash singles 

 

3. was this comeback overhyped? i consider myself a fan and i checked it out when it came out, but i haven't seen many people hyping it up at all. might be because i'm not a hardcore stan and don't follow them super closely, but i feel like at this point most of their fans are adults who are like more casual listeners, not rabid teen stans

I’m streaming it, but they’re not that big to begin with. When was the last time they had a genuine hit? Self titled era 10 years ago?
