Both were the purveyors of pop rock during the turn of the millennium. Both ushered in the age of pop rock clones and put it in the mainstream, inspiring a new generation of pop girls. Yet why haven’t Pink and Avril collabed in their 20 year career. Pink has shown love to Avril in the early years but has seemed to distance herself from her as she switched to soccer mom music. She has chosen instead to collab with Avril’s other rival Kelly and Xtina. What happened? What went wrong?

 

avril/melissa have artistic integrity, unlike the trapeze performer

pink is difficult to work with and she's probably jealous so 

Their music is so different,the only thing they have in common is the rockstar rebel image

Well, I think they are pretty similar

but their sound is too different

P!nk is more rnb leaning while, Avril is rock?

while yea, P!nk has rocknroll elements for sure..she is more on the vocal side of that

while Avril is more of the image (not calling her a poser, but they Are different types of.."rock" to say)

 

+they are overall too different even without that

 

Because Pink grew up and Avril got stuck with that kids bop rock type of music… it almost sounds as if it was produced by Disney…

They might not have a lot in common. One of the main reasons why P!nk and Xtina got their feud done was because they were mothers and they had at least that topic in common to talk about.

 

Also, the timing just isn't there. The collabs with Xtina and Kelly happened when she was in a promo cycle, something she hasn't properly done in a while (she only has done it twice in the last ten years, one for TTAL and another for BT). 

it probably came up in conversation at some point, but both parties recognized that the result would be dreadful and very basic.

Avril wasn't into collabs as it appeared..

No one has ever said P!nk is difficult to work with. On the contrary, she always gets praised about how cool she is. 

 

OT: A collab would be dope. Both are icons. But I don't know how their voices would blend together..

because back then 'pop' girls mostly collabed only with rappers

 

and avril barely collab with anyone, ever

Not you think they look the same. Might be same style but the features and body are different   

All these pop collabs rarely turn out well (except Whitney and Mariah) so I'm glad. It would be nice if they sang something for an event like P!nk and Kelly C at the AMAs, but keep it at that.

Oh wait, you're right lol.  I got Try This and IND mixed up.  Still, maybe we were supposed to get a P!nk/Avril collab and P!nk scrapped it when she found out about Melissa   

Both were too busy hating on Britney Spears at the time.
