Yeah this is a good example. Or like “This [stupid celebrity event] was my 9/11”, or the gif of the Glitter ad panning up to the towers. Or this iconic clip

The ones in OP are dumb. Serving edgy 6th grader in the 2000s.

Depends on the context

Yess :ahh:

Most of the time no, but sometimes they’re funny. Humour can be a coping mechanism.

Any 9/11 meme with photos of a plane in front of the WTC are absolutely disgusting and I’m sure whoever made those is either going to end up in a crackhouse and/or jail for being scum.  Other 9/11 memes can be innocent (the Tyra one for example) so I don’t mind those.  People shouldn’t be joking about it tho.  Pretty much everyone from the NY/NJ/CT area is connected directly or by one or two degrees from someone who perished on 9/11, so it’s just making a mockery of the deaths of thousands for a quick ironic laugh.  I remember some of my classmates going home with one less parent that day, while watching it on TV during school wondering for hours if their parents were okay.  The aftermath of the attacks (the debris and cleanup) ended up poisoning thousands of city workers (including firemen, police officers, health workers, construction workers, volunteers), many of which either have cancer or are slowly developing cancer.
