God forbid there’s a singer/songwriter that writes and sings what she feels

Ya’ll too brainwashed on writing camp singers.

What's questionable? The only people in the replies/quotes having a circle jerk of outrage on Twitter are Kpop and Amber Heard stans :rip:

Um the lyrics are great except for the last two lines which are cringeworthy but those twitter users are doing too much

She's such a horrible artist. Like how does that even make sense in the context of the song?? :deadbanana2: also you’re literally a billionaire. Nobody cares about your opinions on social issues and it's fake asf because we know none of that even affects you at all

Cringe AF and trash.  Taylor's Only The Young is a lyrical masterpiece compared to that.

It’s one of those things where even though she’s not wrong framing it as “I’m so above trite celebrity bullshit” when she’s historically not just makes it pointless

Does that person think brains are supposed to have rocks because um...

To be honest, this would’ve been better if it had a little bit more context within the lyrics. It just looks like she threw it in there for shock value, even if I know that this wasn’t her intention. Like the user above said, you can almost see her and her brother being like “wow, we did that” after writing that.

Could also just be me tho because I HATE lazy political references in songs

Well explained. She's still super young so I wouldn't go too harsh on her for this, she just wanted to look smart, bless her.

I don't think it's dumb, however the lyrics could've been written in a much better way.

She is 100% right, the Depp/Heard trial being all over the news for weeks... :rip:

This, and ironically the people who are denying this fact and making her fun because of it are the ones who are deaf and out of touch

so artists aren’t allowed to want to say things in their music now? lol…

I actually don’t think it was bad :skull:

The Lana BLM/Coachella lyrics were clunky af because she was using social issues/geopolitics as a narrative point in her own life… which is… yeah.

I used to be a low-key OBEH but Happier Than Ever made me switch. Billie is a great writer.

Wait, is this like a new song?? :deadbanana4: I'm so confused

Isn't HTE (2021) her last project?
