Is Post Malone over?

"Cooped Up" doesn't sound like a hit to me.

I think his whole sound is feeling a bit passe at the moment. However, "One Right Now" was very catchy and has an incredible bass line that should've been a smash, so it needing to be propped up by radio is concerning.

I really did think he was going to go in a rock direction after he did that quarantine nirvana cover concert. He doesn’t seem to have a drive for music anymore like he did with his first two albums which is a bummer because his music is good when he tries. I would guess he’s just fulfilling his contract with republic so he can go live in the middle of nowhere and do whatever

Its crazy how he was just stomping like crazy for years then nothing :deadbanana4: he's a male and still pretty young though, he probably still has some success in his future even if he never returns to his previous dominance. lets wait til he at least drops an album to call it

his brand, if ya'll need more clarity:

lots of artists have these :eli:

Idk what’s going on with Post but I don’t like any of his recent music

Public consumption is so weird. I never expected As It Was to become this big of a hit, for instance (I expected it'd do well tho, but never imagined it'd do THIS well), and look at it now. We don't know how it'll be received. A tik tok sound could make this song (or any song) viral at any point. It's not a bad song by any means. It's chill and easy to listen to.

With that said, I do agree that it doesn't sound like a huge hit on first listen. Circles, for instance, gives you the "hit" chills immediately. And the youtube views are actually tragic, 300,000 in 10 hours is not a good number. I know youtube is dead and it's not even a music video, but he has 23 million subscribers :rip:

I mean, there's a psychic medium on Tiktok that swears something bad is gonna happen to him on July 4th...so...

what? omg that’s scary :emofish:

Honestly I just heard this song now for the first time, and it’s literally the same recipe for all his other songs :rip: I get why he’s flopping, you can’t keep trying to recreate

Yes. He was even demoted to a sub-label of Republic after Motley Crew and One Right Now completely BOMBED :deadbanana4:

:deadbanana2: Mess

It's so weird to see him fall off, usually male artists just... don't like this. Especially ones so widely accepted and popular as Post Malone, he was literally up there with the likes of Drake and Ed.

Good that he’s flopping. I liked him when he did Congratulation, but him making pop music with Circles got all the white gays to stan him here, but I guess the gays are fickle to just stan the success/numbers :michael:

I never understood his appeal and his success in the first place. It always baffled me. However, after so much success, I don’t understand the sudden flopping either. His whole career is a mystery to me. :toofunny3:

Check the label on his new sing, he's signed under Mercury Records now :deadbanana4: it's ova!

WASTED all of Republic's money on payola, TTH residencies, Louis Bell studio sessions, and flashy music videos nobody watched

Yeah. That what streaming era is. Very unpredictable.

Just think his wave is over. The last of that SoundCloud rapper Phase is on its way out tbh

We have to see how the album performs once it comes out. But if it does perform that’ll be shocking since he released 3 back to back albums that were massive smashes and had insane longevity, plus hit singles.

One Right Now didn't bomb.  It had great longevity and hit the Top 5 on Pop and Top 10 on the Hot 100.
