I love to travel, but the worst part about traveling is the airport. The waiting, the potential chaos if things don't go smoothly, the security, just everything  I'm sure that "London" Stansted Airport is modelled after the 4th circle of hell.

 

That being sad, I never experienced something truly awful in an airport. Once my flight got cancelled due to weather and once I was in the security line for way longer than it should’ve been (1.5+ hours ish), but those things were only mildly annoying tbh.

 

What's your worst experiences in airports (or just traveling in general) ?

Oh i thought this is about that video of the passenger boarding bridge where people/ghosts have been seen walking. Those people who died in airplane crash but their spirits arrived on the airport.

the filthy looks people gave us the whole plane ride, i wish we just missed the flight

If you come to Mexico please don't land in Mexico City. Political agenda has ruined the airport there even more, some days ago a plane almost crashes into another while landing xx

my flight was delayed once by 3 hours and a couple of times I had to spend the night at the airport because there were no early morning buses or trains to the airport from my city... which yeah, annoying, but not that bad in grand scheme of things, i know people have worse things happen to them

I was flying from Portugal into Chicago and there was a winterstorm that day. The plane circled over Chicago for an hour and then landed in a cargo lot in some bumblef*ck fields in MILWAUKEE. Then, the pilot kept everyone in the plane for two hours before declaring the flight cancelled. They threw us out into the snow onto a cargo bus that took us to the real Milwaukee airport. They gave us no word on our luggage. It took me a whole two weeks to get my bags back bc the airline couldn’t get their ish together. Nightmare, don’t ever fly TAP Air Portugal

Is Milwaukee bad? Just curious because this is the second time today I hear like a sort of negative connotation to it

For an Arab it’s always a horrifying story, I always get delayed with interrogation at customs. 

I was flying to New York and had paid extra to book the window seat. I get on the plane and some lady is sitting in my seat. I couldn't tell her anything because she had a baby and I didn't want to cause a scene. I just ended up taking the middle seat, but I was livid the whole flight. If you want a particular seat pay for it *******.

I worked for an airline for three years. Planes have more technical issues when they arrive than passengers realize.

 

Oh, and once the safety supervisor ran somebody over with a plane tug.

I thought about stuff like this yesterday, what if they just land the plane some other place than it was supposed to, you probably wouldn't even realise it before you leave the plane

The navigational equipment was malfunctioning before take off and then the vapor from the A/C starting filling the plane up. I was freaked out the whole time. Apparently it was due to the humidity since I was in Florida.

No Milwaukee is not a bad city. It’s just more than an hour away from the destination airport, and the fact they kept us on the plane for TWO HOURS in the middle of a field ? Chile when I tell you the customer service from that airline was horrendous, I seriously thought I lost all hope of getting my baggage back

Oh we knew we were landing in a different city, what we didn’t know is that we landed in a cargo field ?

I went to Germany with family when I was 12 (2 parents, and 4 kids between 14 & 4), and we had to stay a while for interrogation just because we were Pakistani, and the people there referred to us as a 'bunch of Pakis'. It was obvious that they didn't like our presence for some reason.

 

That was probably the first time I had met a white person and also the first time I had faced some form of racism.

Flew from NY to Tampa. Plane was delayed for over an hour. We're just about into Tampa and the pilot says we need to make an emergency landing in Orlando because they forgot to fill up with gas before we left NY. Orlando is literally a 20 minute flight from Tampa so we must have been completely empty. And they didn't think to fill with gas while we were sitting in our plane while maintenance was being done?! 

 

 

Another time the Detroit airport had this gigantic line for security. My plane was about to take off so I ran through the airport like I was in a marathon, and of course my gate was the the very end of this shopping mall-like building. I got there literally as they were closing the door and they said they have been paging my name overhead to get me to come to the gate. Everyone in that plane gave me the dirtiest look. 

 

Another time my ex and our friend flew together but somehow got separated in line while boarding. We grab our seats and wondered what was taking my ex so long. Everyone boarded and they started closing the doors so I call him and his phone kept hanging up right away. I panicked and tried to get off the plane which made the attendants nervous. They start going over safety procedures and finally they open the door and he came running through - turns out he was randomly selected by security and the lady took her sweet ass time, not even caring he was about to miss his flight. 

Flew into LaGuardia after attending the March for Our Lives rally a few years ago and had our flight canceled because of an oil spill on the runway. Worst ****ing airport ever. 

I misread this as armpit horror stories and ran for pix . I been thinking about becoming a flight attendant so let me read this thread. imagine grindr all over the world. I bet the pay would be cute to just hand out some sandwhiches and ask if theyd like sprite or coke.
