My whole Madonna kick recently was kind of inspired by my own mom. She hasn't been doing so well as of late, so I've been feeling nostalgic and thinking back to her listening to Live to Tell (her favo

Oh I'll Remember, the gorgeous ballad you are…

William Orbit's remixes are my go-to when I wanna listen to that song

I just realized that FEL did only 2k from streaming in US :rip:

Her entire singles catalog doing 2k in a week where a compilation is released... :rip:

Why did I think album debuted with like 50k when it actually only did 28k

It's not shocking there was no real promo and it's a remix of a greatest hits album that charted number 1 on the dance charts with many mixes that can be found on Youtube.

It's interesting to me how poorly Erotica performed considering she released it only a couple of years after her absolute commercial and celebrity peak. I know it was a controversial era but you'd think the momentum from Immaculate Collection/Blond Ambition would've been enough to give it more of a boost. It's not exactly like she went from girl next door to good girl gone bad from one to another.

it's a cult classic that really stood the test of time I feel. a true masterpiece of an album from start to finish, I also love how it sonically represents its era while being timeless. I've been obsessed with that album since I discovered it as an 11 year old in 2008 :deadbanana4: oh Madonna, you're the greatest of all time for a reason. her 90s output is insane, peak pop run I'd say.

We're in 2020s. There is no promo anymore. Did you expect her to sing 80s songs on Good morning America?

And it's not a remix for chart purposes since streams of all the versions of all the songs on the album were counted for it and it was still only 2k.

Her recurrent streams in US are horrible and we knew it while RollingStone was publishing their charts, but I am still so shocked. I completely checked out of that horrible project I didn't even look for numbers until recently.

Why was Confessions straight up ignored at the Sticky & Sweet tour?

She sang Hung Up?

The house that trax built post is clearly a hint at what the new album is going to sound like I'd say. I'm definitely here for it! Aside from Stuart I'm wondering if the other producer involved is Honey Dijon as it would make so much sense.

Surely part of maybe all of The Celebration Tour DJ mix that Stuart did is a strong indication of the albums sound.

And if the rumour of her sampling something well known is true I'd say Your Love (Frankie Knuckles) or Move Your Body (Marshall Jefferson) are the likely candidates.

Regarding predictions on the vocal production I'd say expect anything from AI to auto tune to both or even some natural vocals (with subtle auto tune or vocoders). At this stage I have no idea 😂

I'm hopeful there will be a mixed and unmixed version. Surely that will be a good way to gain sales if they separate the two or a double pack at a higher price.

According to that one alleged insider from popjustice the album is set for an April release:

"And one small update while we're at it, the album is expected to be released in early April."

"There's a section where the Chicago classics are front and center. It hits you instantly. Should you feel the urge to move your body, don't be surprised, that's simply the nature of the beast."

"I'm fully aware that recent releases have sparked mixed reactions, but I can assure you that this time she's about to bring everyone together, fans and non-fans alike. The album is a gem. It feels like dancing to new Madonna productions infused with the spirit of Shep Pettibone, Chic, Daft Punk, the Rock Steady Crew, Frankie Knuckles... all blended into something entirely her own.
(And to be clear, this does not reveal any specific samples or featured artists.)"

Ooooh I haven't been this excited about a new album in so so long

Supposedly a version of the lead single is being soon. There are a few mixes that were tweaked on top of the original track by Stuart and they're deciding on which one to release.

ugh a house album ... and this time probably done well compared to da others who said they had a house music album

I really hope I get to see her in concert. I saw Janet at the SOTW tour, and it was incredible. My only other icon that is still alive is Madge. Fingers Crossed.

She will tour after the next album, that's for sure

the biggest proof to me that Madonna is the greatest artist alive is that any time I play her music from 1986 to 2005 it hits me just like the first time and I can unlock a new meaning every time. today To Have and Not to Hold resonated with me on such a deep level and it is so weird because I never really connected with that song. I really miss this level of artistry in the mainstream, sure I can listen to my modern day faves like Rosalía, FKA twigs, Caroline Polachek etc. but I wish culture appreciated experimenting and artistry still (although it's been really rewarding to see Lux's success this year). I simply can't imagine a Ray of Light released today be successful and it makes me sad. Anyway Madonna was my first fave, my first introduction to what music can be and I'm forever grateful how I can rediscover and reconnect with things in her catalogue.

There is promo, Taylor just did promo for her album she's been on some shows and podcasts and there were advertisements.

I hope she doesn't do alot of dancing it's clear she can't move the way she to and it just looks awkward and I can already see people/media taking a piss, just let the dancers do the work.

Madame X was such a fun era looking back. I still remember the joy of getting the email confirming I got a ticket to one of the Brooklyn shows I couldn't contain myself

Because she never cared about the album. Which makes these whole narrative of her making p2. so... cringe?

It wasn't. She did Hung Up.

Every so often I think about this fanmade video and hope it's still on youtube.

The chorus just encapsulates Madonna so well for me, especially the line "I was constant as a Northern star"

Is there any other stans who enjoy her entire discography?

Like it seems to be the common consensus that so many people dislike everything post 2005, but for me all 4 albums after, while worse than her peak music, are still really good? Especially Madame X and Hard Candy.
