Confessions II debuts with 13M streams | 2nd day: 9M | 3rd day: 6.5M
I foresee the album having decent legs, fingers crossed, and hopefully an awards campaign. It's very replayable. The fact that on streaming it's continuous play like the OG Confessions CD just puts the vibe over the top for me and makes this release even more unique. This album was made with inspiration and care, and that's very clear. I'm so glad to experience a real Madonna era. When I became a fan around 2017-ish, times were rough indeed. She always gets back on track as this has proven.

HDD: #1 Madonna 126.7K
These numbers are promising. I really hope Cll gives Madge another platinum plaque. I've been listening to this nonstop on Spotify, bought it on iTunes, and then splurged for the vinyl. It's interesting that the 80s trinity all had a resurgence this year. Prince - Stranger Things - Michael - The biopic and now Madonna with a brand new era. So good.

Madonna's spotify is a mess, why?
I hope you're right. I thought the biopic/series would give her a big boost, but it seems that project is DOA.

Madonna's spotify is a mess, why?
Even on YouTube, it's too low. That song still holds up, and it's not that old either. I don't get it.

Madonna's spotify is a mess, why?
Music (song) being so low is a disgrace. For some reason her catalog feels underrated.

- Spotify | Aaliyah "Back & Forth" hits 100 million streams

Madonna best song got a streaming peak, surprised?
I was hoping this song would gain some traction when I saw the viral tweet of its lyrics. The version with the video on yt is fantastic. I don't like the spotify version as much.

Does 'Like a Virgin' (song) deserve better?
I love Madonna's first album. It deserves more too. It is like a time capsule of that time to me (not that I was born then, but still). I feel like that's the thing: when you release a lot of material in your prime and after, some songs get lost in the shuffle. I am surprised that Music (song) has barely cracked 100m. That song is still fresh to me and is more modern than the early days. I guess you never know what will get picked up.

Why is Mariah bigger than Celine on Spotify?
It's because Celine didn't do a lot of upbeat music. Mariah has many boppers; that's not the case with Celine from what I've seen. She even said herself she was shocked and excited when Rene finally gave her an uptempo song to sing.

Taylor to surpass Madonna in 10 years
That's interesting. TBH i'm still not buying that she would leave hundreds of millions on the table for seemingly no reason, but I guess only time will tell. That would be crazy/epic if she surpassed The Beatles, who are way older. I can take the L and admit I was wrong in this thread, tho.

Taylor to surpass Madonna in 10 years
Where are you getting these numbers from? Is there a website? Genuinely asking, because I thought most artists now counted their streams towards the album's total certifications, not the singles? I didn't think you could double count. I don't follow her at all, but I won't deny her success.

Taylor to surpass Madonna in 10 years
No hate, but why would Taylor leave herself hundreds of millions uncertified? I can understand a couple of million. Even 10 million. Hundreds? Why would she do that?

Madonna
I really hope I get to see her in concert. I saw Janet at the SOTW tour, and it was incredible. My only other icon that is still alive is Madge. Fingers Crossed.

Will Madonna's lead single chart?
I hope so, but I think it depends on the song. There is no guarantee. She is doing better on streaming now than she was during Madame X so we shall see.

Was Janet's legacy truly erased?
I honestly think she wanted to be close to her family around the time of the trial. It was bad timing. She for sure should've toured for it instead of releasing 20 y.o., though. 2 years after releasing an album to tour for it isn't that unheard of. She listened to Jermaine Dupri who was her boyfriend at the time and had just had a major hit with Mariah that he could help her. I understand her, but it was a mistake.

Madonna
Oh, well that makes more sense. I didn't know that. Damn how dumb.

Was Janet's legacy truly erased?
The canceling of the RWY tour was such a disaster. She said it was because of vertigo, but if that were the case, she would've rescheduled the missed dates instead of canceling the whole thing. She has never been given that level of production budget for a tour (non-residency) again. Watching the footage, Janet was giving it her all, but the crowd was dead. It really was like the public dropped her at that time. She has built up her touring reputation since then to an extent, but she isn't having blockbuster tours like other acts her age. Selling 800k tickets and grossing 51m in 2024 is nowhere near a runaway success in today's climate, where tours are everything for artists.

I'm shocked that LAP didn't go to 1b with the use in DeadPool. I wonder why. Did something happen during that time?

Was Janet's legacy truly erased?
Seemingly her fans on here barely post anymore. I remember how hard in the paint they were on this website fighting for Janet. Now it seems they all left/gave up.

Madonna
I'm shocked it was so low. It did pretty well on the charts. A top 10 for a compilation of random dance remixes is pretty good in my book. I loved the album art for the cd. A very well done project imo.

Was Janet's legacy truly erased?
I don't understand how someone can be completely erased from the public conscience after having had blockbuster mainstream success multiple times. It makes it seem like Janet's success was a fluke or fraud or something. It isn't just the media but the people. Every year it seems like the unfairness of the controversy goes viral, and yet these people aren't streaming her music.
