yeah but charts are calming down after its chaotic run earlier this year is a great chance to make "Notorious Being" () a #1 debuting hit.

 

cardi is a wild card tbh. nobody was expecting WAP's slayage after her flop collabs. also atlantic probably will give all the promo to CB2's lead (if they still have some money to effort that) especially after their lowkey bankruptcy. they wouldn't want to lose her too

I love Miss Cardi, so I'm pulling for her! But she needs to do some work to rebuild her momentum after her last few solo releases ended up not sustaining themselves… But anyway. Back to Gaga.

Y'all are giving February / March when y'all acted like Gaga couldn't release any week because there was competition (some people included Kacey Musgraves, Selena and Shakira as competition)

 

She released DWAS the same week as a Post Malone yeehaw album with a #1 song and DWAS became bigger than anything released by Post Malone in like 6 years. 

 

Since Gaga isn't gunning for a #1 single, the only competitions for what we rationally think our highest spot can be (#5) would be rep TV

GOD FORBID SHE RELEASES WITH NO COMPETITION FOR ONCE.

 

Whether this Friday or next, unless there's a huge surprise album release, Gaga picked a great time for her single anyway given the lack of new stuff lately and weakening charts. DWAS is also peaking on streaming so it's the perfect time to move into the next one, even if radio is slow. The reality is that radio won't meaningfully pick it up until after the holidays at this point anyway, so DWAS can do its thing there for the rest of the year.

her website doesn't usually update with annoucnement, but even then that can also be scheduled. But yeah I will take any crumb tomorrow doesn't need to be announcement. I would actually prefer if we got some teasing billboards first (not announcement billboard), but something like HQ or Flowers. They could have some lyrics and be vague to get us hyped

It actually might not be a bad thing in the long run if she does end up having to push the release date by a week or two (maybe even more). Yes it'll get backlash from fans, but also it would suck for DWAS's performance to hinder LG7 lead. 
 

It's very likely it'll be very sonically different, and the lead deserves to have all the space it can get to shine. This is her pop comeback afterall

Yes delaying it onto Xmas freeze is such a great idea.

First single late october and second single early january with the third coming along with the album drop (all with music videos) would be a great roll-out. Throw in a couple of promo tracks in the mix and it's perfect.

Xmas freeze will start slowing down almost every song (unless it's some huge big smash), so releasing something different and more experimental (which would probably get fans excited for more) is smart. Lead will probably struggle to smash anyway so might as well experiment. Then she can come in January with a more "hit" oriented single to present the era to a broader audience.

 

That's also why I don't really see a point in postponing the lead because of DWAS. If we learned something this year, is that artists can smash with multiple songs at the same time. After next week, the more she waits, the bigger Xmas songs will be.
