Agree. I always have said SL video is disappointing as a pop comeback, but "fine" in the grand scheme of things — minus the horrible outfits  

 

And before the OSLHs come at me, this ain't me justifying it as a video

Stupid love just needed high definition cameras and less spasms/choreography.

The song however is a colossal bop  I'm dying on that hill

I just rewatched the Stupid Flop MV. It actually had a lot of potential to be a really funny, campy video. And Gaga had never really done a MV that was genuinely funny/humorous. The beginning shot dramatically sets up the scenery and basically establishes Gaga as the literal head cop of the Chromatica universe police force.  But they never went anywhere with the concept, except Gaga breaking up one single fight with supernatural powers that came outta nowhere towards the very end of the video. 

 

They could have shown the Kindness Punks being on patrol, did a little bit of lore and character building, they could have shown them eating pink rhinestoned donuts for lunch in a throwaway shot.

I'd care more if I knew she was attending, I do think they've done a better job this year generating a bit of buzz around the show, getting the hot names at the minute to perform and teasing Taylor earlier today was a smart move. But it's generally reflective of how the year in music has been, I guess and this year so far has been good.

Million Reasons hurts the most because she didn't need a big budget for that video. She could have just done something simmilar to what she for the Joanne piano version video and it would have worked for MR. Instead we got this jumble of footage that doesn't go together and the best video from the Joanne era went to a non single (John Wayne) where as the big hit of the era gets the worst video of her career.

I was going to mention this earlier here but one of my mutuals on twitter is an intern at WB and when Dune 2 came out he said that he had heard Denis wanted Gaga to play the role of Lady Fenrig (which ended up going to Léa Seydoux). Obviously take this with a grain of salt but I could totally see the vision having seen the movie. The movie went into production around the time of the Chromatica Ball so that could have been why she turned it down- plus the role was pretty small so that could possibly have been another factor (if this was even true).

I'm pretty sure that the role of Cleopatra has already been cast and it's Zendaya. She's been attached to the project for several years since Villeneuve took the reins.
