If I remember the first one got more word of mouth of how crazy it was after release and then people started going to see it.

Joker (2019) has media frenzy all over it w the constant fear and potential threat of theatre security which made GP more curious, hence the leggy walkups. since i doubt it'll repeat, WB needs to traditionally push promo for the film to boaster sales.

Part of why the numbers seem to make sense to me is the relative lack of promo for this movie. It felt like Gaga was everywhere for HoG. Much less so here right?

I don't think I've ever bought a presale movie ticket either   I buy day of

Because this movie won't open in 20 days, movie promos usually start 2 weeks prior.

I honestly don't get why people do it. Like even for movies I'm frothing at the mouth to see I'll buy the week of, MAX. 

 

Maybe it's because I'm still living in my hometown and the theaters just never get that crazy busy and seats aren't hard to get, but I can't imagine buying a ticket when I couldn't even tell you my schedule.
