Now that we know that Gaga was kinda relegated to supporting actress in the movie and edited down significantly it kinda all makes sense to me why she is going to be starting the LG7 era at the same time as the movie release. She must have known her shot at any lead actress oscar nom was shot after she watched the fully finished film and decided to not put all her eggs in one basket and to move forward with simultaneously promoting her music and taking advantage of the blockbuster effect the film will have to also promote her music. Had she truly believed this movie would have given her a oscar nom u all know Gaga would be solely focused on that and campaigning heavily instead of potentially splitting her time on promoting the movie and the music. It seems like something has happened and she is kind of disappointed with where the film may have went after the edits and is trying to simply make the most out of it and simultaneously have something else to celebrate (aka her music)

Wait what? Literally every pop artist struggles with consistently producing hit singles these days… it isn't like the old days where you were pretty much guaranteed to get a string of hits your first 2-3 eras. Look at Dua, Billie, Olivia, Ariana, etc… all have had hit and miss singles

oh god okay can someone summarize what we know about the actual film? idgaf about spoilers so tell me everything we know. i can't process all the pages i missed. 

deleted scenes we've seen (i.e. stair performance), screentime estimate, general opinions etc... if someone knows all of it by heart plz tell me

I can give u a small rundown:

Spoiler

- no stair case scenes (so no scene of her in normal clothing crying...you remember that picture? well it's gone & also no scene of her setting Joker up.

- in terms of criticisms....the critics are mostly criticizing the editing of the film, the loooonnnng and apparently boring courtroom scenes and the fact that Gaga was HEAVILY underutilized. She is apparently relegated to supporting character and will apparently not be in a significant amount of the movie scenes

- There is also a GGD insider who said that basically Gaga is mostly in the scenes we have seen in the trailer and not much more beyond that

- Gaga's performance was praised beyond belief. Todd's choices were HEAVILY criticized and Joaquin's acting was mixed reviewed tho

no clue tbh :/ but i presume maybe not because if she is not doing the set up scene in the stairs then idk what else they filmed in that look tbh :/ 

Wow… i feel like Gaga knew this **** was coming and she didnt want us to be disappointed and she gave us the lead single announcement.

as time goes by, I'm starting to appreciate Bradley more and more. he was so kind to Gaga and respected her as an artist/collaborator so much 

I hope Todd and Joaquin will start showing their appreciation for Gaga a bit more.

but i'd love some drama or tea to leak and shift focus to how gaga deserved more and everyone going full on pro-gaga and creating some type of "poor her!" narrative, and tanking their reps all while lifting her up  

Told my bestie about Todd the frog cutting Gaga's scenes and switching her up to supporting and she was SHOCKED pointing out that everyone and their mother thought she was co-lead based on how they promoted the movie.
