September 5, 20242 yr comment_26453295 my honest opinion: i think they were afraid of fan boys thinking gaga would sing over the top musical and is going to be a mess etc a turn off (no 1B for Todd), so they toned her down, now the reviews say oh she is supporting not lead she is not 2 hour on the screen, hey this still a joker movie focused on joaquin...hey she is not all the time.... but she is good...its not a musical. but they did promoted the film as a LEAD actress and LEAD actor using kinda her name for clicks...Folie a deux. 2!...gaga in every scene on the trailer, posters, photos, promo photos from day 1. and her name attached next to Joaquin...now the last trailer its about just joaquin, gaga speaking on the press conf feels smaller, even the #joker twitter emoji its just him... since the leak gaga's outdoor scenes back in the day,i got the feeling they were just testing the waters... i knew some people would NOT be on board with gaga taking the spotlight let alone being harleey, and singing in this movie as if she was about to ruin this movie when the the director wanted to do this....lady gaga was just a paid actress doing music on this movie bc they wanted not bc she wanted.....,, fanboys actually threatened to not watch this if was a musical (as if it was hair spray or something) or as gaga was showed into their faces all the time (bc some people still judging her), we all saw that narrative on social media with the same stupid comments. i guess Todd wanted another 1B movie, but rn he actually got kinda panned by critics bc of the direction he took at the end, BUT actually can be a good decision for the joker fan base and its the way to find success......we just can hope that now the joker audience support this movie like they did before knowing the things they were afraid of are not a question anymore, (with the moves that Todd did),, or the joker audience could find Todd's direction/idea bad executed, that would mean the audience will actually support critics opinion and be on their side...which could ruin the box office. we will found out after OCT 4- .
