Early screenings comments saying Harley is very present and could overshadow Joker  (I think Grace talked about it) compared with today's reviews + Todd saying they reworked some scenes + The fact that THOSE scenes apparently are not in the final cut... I wonder if she's happy with the final result.

It seems like they keep doing this to her. Similar thing happened to HOG - it was initially going to be narrated from the perspective of Patrizia which meant she most likely had more parts. I wonder if it's because they're intimidated by her star power and don't want to make everything about her.

 

I can't wait for her to choose a project where she can fully shine

I'm actually happy with the reception of JFAD and think it could be A LOT worse. My only hope is it stays fresh, I'd rather it stay fresh over an Oscar nom tbh because a rotten score would be kinda messy.

In terms of her only being supporting well she got her 10 mill cheque and added another high profile film to her filmography. Would Zendaya or Florence turn down Dune or Ryan turn down Barbie? No. But if I'm hearing she mostly only sings well I hate that but Gaga kinda knew what she was signing up for. Tho if she continues and wants to be the serious actor shes been so far next role should be unrelated to music and preferably directed by a woman but who knows maybe she just wants to do mostly films with musical elements.

saw the FAD trailer for the first time on the big screen tonight and I literally got chills, i can't wait to watch it 5 times opening weekend for gar.

Istg if they cut a bunch of her material because they were scared of it being too much her movie, only for that choice to completely backfire on them anyway and tank her campaign...

she probably turned down lots of other roles for this film, she took tons of ozempic and risked her health for this role and at the end Todd Phillips erases what seemed like a potential ICONIC scene for her (the two stairs scenes, the one where she is crying as civilian Harlee and the one as criminal Harlee dancing and setting Joker up or whatever)? Like what is going through his mind when he makes a decision like that? I bet a little part of her is disappointed hence why she seemed a bit more subdued and demur in her conduct this time around compared to her press junket for HoG and ASIB.

She didn't look happy at all yesterday besides when she was with Michael tbh

Gaga playing the humble actress campaign role but actually just trying to naturally detach herself from the project  a mastermind 

Oh please, how do you guys assume there won't be other better scenes in the movie for Gaga? Just because those were the leaked scenes we got to see doesn't mean that's all there is to the movie. Let's wait until we make the final judgement 

I'm a lil concerned that Gaga's new song won't even come close to DWAS on the charts. Like imagine how big the airplay could be on overall radio by the end of this month alone  

 

I guess we will find out once it drops! Imagine it's another ballad and the rest of the album is dark bawps  

yeah the next film she does needs to have her as the lead front and center. So far she's been playing second fidle and thats fine as she builds her reputation as an actress. She is also picking great films but imo she needs to act more. Like do one movie a year or every two years at least and try out different genres too. It will lower expectations which will then help her branch out and take more acting risks. Right now i feel like Gaga probably sets herself up by not doing that many films because there is always such massive anticipation which is great because it means more ppl wanting to buy tickets out of curiosity to see how she does BUT it also means she is giving away her star power to these directors who dont seem to believe in her and almost always render her a secondary character instead of the lead despite her top billing in most of these movies...

The next movie should be a indie small budget project that focuses SOLELY on her and really pushes her acting chops and then she should have some fun and maybe take on a witty comedy or something light. 

Atp, I'm literally just hoping and praying that by the grace of God(ga), if they did in fact cut a bunch of her material that they see how obvious of a f*ck up it was, do some quick re-editing, pull a Bardo, and release a new cut when it gets officially released in October. Basically every critic is screaming that Gaga was wasted and it was a fundamental error in the film. If they have the material on the cutting room floor... just add some of it back in. 

 

I know damn well it ain't happening and I'm just kiing and coping, but it's not without precedent and it'd be the smartest move they could make right now.
