I know she's signed to Interscope for at least LG7 and potentially one more album afterwards but imagine if she were on Atlantic's roster. The playlisting, organized release, smart strategies would be leagues beyond what we're used to.

We thought DWAS success might push LG7 back into 2025, but on the contrary I think the smart thing to do is strike while the iron is hot! And with her Spotify bio update mid-late October is on lock   

Now we need the weekend collab to go #1 and then lg7 lead

Not LGN blocking people that are asking for streaming/buying parties. Thank god we have an organic hit, because if it were up to USA little monsters to get her up there on the charts we'd be f*cked.

Anyway, I think the release is being handled by Interscope.

She'd have to promote two projects, and one of them would have to be left behind at some point. If she's going for an Academy Award nod, she's gonna have to campaign for it... which would take time away from LG7 promo. Or the contrary. Like, all these ceremonies she'd have to attend (GG + CC + Brits) and whatever.

 

It's better if LG7 lead comes out in February or March, imho.

WB might tone down the campaign a bit considering Joaquin's scandal, and the perceived backfiring of the HOG and to some extent ASIB campaigns.

As a Hive-Monster hybrid, I often feel this about Bey and Columbia. Less because the label ever really sabotage their releases, but you just know there are other labels would do "all the things".

 

The thing with acts like Gaga and Bey, who have long, multi-decade runs at their respective labels, they are considered part of the foundation of the label itself. Top priority acts who will theoretically always be worked as a "main attraction of the roster" even if we know another label would be more tactical and optimized in snatching hits.

 

I say this to say, Interscope would fight tooth and nail to keep Gaga and for reasons beyond the charts. They want her for heritage and prestige and the bragging rights of her entire catalog being under their umbrella. In short, it's a flex.

 

For Gaga herself, unless the label starts doing her as RCA started doing their heritage acts like Xtina, Alicia Keys, Kelly, Pink, and co (2 singles, 1 video, and limited promotion per era), there's no real incentive to leave. Especially as another major label will either want to put her on a 360 (a hell no) or do her the type of distribution deal that looks good on paper but doesn't incentivize them to go all out for her as the returns wouldn't be worth it. Indie isn't an option either.
