Surprised it's doing more streams that FEL taking into account that for the part of her career, the best versions of her singles are in the remix album. 

I just realised that we don't talk enough about how bad Stupid Love is. This song is a disgrace to her discography. Imagine having a discography full of masterpieces and iconic songs and then having this cheap song too. I can't stand it

Despite being the 8th biggest single of 2019, it currently has the 3rd highest daily streams (or 4th, because idk what happened to the 7 Rings update) out of the ten biggest songs of 2019 WW. Shallow is on track to be within 15 million streams of Bad Guy by the end of the year (Bad Guy is currently over 100 million streams ahead on Spotify). SYL and Sunflower are also the only two songs in this list getting more daily Youtube views (and are also the only ones beating it on Spotify too). So despite being the 8th biggest song of 2019 (an insane accomplishment regardless), it's the 3rd biggest out of this list in total recurrents. 

 

Overall, Shallow's blockbuster year in 2019 was nothing short of extraordinary, but its longevity since then (especially when compared to songs that smashed around the same time) is pretty ******* impressive too. 

The fact that ARUTW is #3 just behind Sunflowers and Shallow, without it being an official single. 

 

ARUTW is such a timeless classic smash.

to be fair, FEL did amazing in pure sales. medonsters are just older and tend to buy more and stream less, but yes, Madonna is known for having many excellent and popular remixes, so the fact that DoC outstreamed is still good for Gaga.

The way it'd probably be doing "Someone You Loved" numbers if it had been released as a single globally  and it has pretty shitty playlisting too. The way it's become one of her biggest songs despite it not getting the treatment it deserved speaks to its quality. I listen to it all the time, and I sincerely believe it would've been Shallow-sized or bigger if it got that global single release.

yes it gave what the song lacked for me, also this esthetic the black leather was much more pleasing to the eye than the mv esthetic imo

Gaga really got the best of both worlds. Shallow got to chart for over 40 weeks while being a single and ARUTW was able to flourish without being an official single. It’s a win win

it wouldn’t be so hated if it wasn’t the lead or a single in general 

Like for the SL video spend A LOT of money to film on a dessert (shooting in location is very expensive, especially with so many dancers) just to...make it look like she's a in greeen screen or a cheap set from a sci-fi movie from the 90s?. If she had gone further with the tacky special effects / 90s sci-fi vibe I would have bought it but she didn't...

yeah I don't buy the whole "she wanted to make it cheap..." no! they just didn't bother, like the clothes were literally all from AliExpress
