When it comes to tour bundles you can't completely subtract them and say "this would have debuted with X amount without the tour bundles"

There's an amount of people who got the tour bundle who would have bought the album had they not got the free download.

It's not a 1:1 ratio obviously but still not all of those copies would have been lost had the tour bundle rule already been implemented

This is a good point too. When I calculated what Chromatica did without them, it was based off a Billboard estimate of how many people usually redeem their free album from tour bundles, but in reality there's just too many variable to ever truly figure out what an album would do without them since you never know if a person who got it for free would have bought it anyways or not. It's kind of like trying to figure out what Born This Way's first week "really" was since many of the people that bought it for $0.99 probably were going to buy it anyways.

So Dua Lipa is releasing on Feb 3rd, so Gaga has Feb 17th, Feb 23rd free, maybe also March 1st

 

I think the lead is coming on Feb 17th most likely

She and her team just better have vinyls, cds, etc ready when she does drop the LG7 lead. Oh, and a music video ready to drop. She’s going to need a lot of help to push into the top 10 of Billboard. I remember when they dropped Perfect Illusion without a MV. It would have def got closer to #10 instead of #15 in its debut.

I was thinking the same thing, especially if another J:FaD teaser is going to be released on Valentine's Day again

She also needs good playlisting (being at the top of TTH, NMF, and all the other big pop playlists), a good first-week radio deal, and they should release the instrumental, acapella, extended version, ect. throughout the first week. And I think it'd be wise to tease the song on TikTok/release a snippet there. That apparently helps build hype for a ton of artists, and it could benefit her too.

 

And for the love of ******* god: pick the correct song as a lead single

Wouldn't mind Gaga going head-to-head against Dula Peeps. The #1 spot on TTH would be snatched from her but Gaga's debuts are more impressive, while Dua is more of a slow-burner.

Gaga without #1 on TTH + front cover of most Spotify playlists IS probably debuting at like #18 or less. Gaga needs to release a week where she can be the total protagonist

Dua debuted at #11 with her lead single, so I think Gaga would be the protagonist if she released the lead single the same day Dua released her second single. I was just joking because of the inordinate amount of time Dua's songs stay on TTH.

I don't see Dua's team letting another single debut below top 10 -- I can see them doing massive payola (even more than usual)

 

But we'll see. Maybe she's not even releasing the song until Feb 9th. Who knows

With the way Katheryn is rumored to come back next month as well, I can see it happening. Imagine how tired we are  

I still find it hard to believe she’s dropping new music in the next month or so. The only way it makes sense is if the Joker trailer drops during Super Bowl and they use the hype to announce LG7. 

I doubt her team would delay lead single because of Dua. It will surely compromise radio spins and playlist positions. Also they share lot of demographic with gays and Europeans, so it might impact overall streams as well. But if they are planning for that week, they will go far it.

 

But in all honesty I have lost hope for Feb release 

 

If Billboard would of counted YouTube streams in 2010, both Bad Romance and Telephone would of went #1

Billboard should announce that both those songs are honorary #1s

It’s up to the labels, not the teams. The labels can and do exchange information about who’s dropping what and when. I’m sure they won’t collide. And yes, I agree, February seems too good to be true.

It still sounds too good to be true, however a release next month doesn't need the JFAD hype to make sense, it's been 4 years since her last studio album, she has the hype and curiosity for new music without the need of the movie one.

I'd rather wait and have a proper era, with a proper concept, proper promotion and proper momentum than something half-assed.

 

Even if has to be after Joker next year.

We're in the streaming era. "Proper eras" don't really happen anymore. LG7 will be out before Joker.
