I’m so over her picking the wrong song and then it undermining the entire era‘s commercial performance. She did it with both Joanne and Chromatica (and tbh ARTPOP.) Whoever told her to release PI should be fired. She really needs to have a big hit to head into this cycle so she can then focus on the movie after. Exactly. Let’s just hope she picks the right lead for once (it’s been damn near a decade since the last time she has if you don’t count ASIB) and maybe she’ll have another cool collab for single #2. And unlike Chromebook, we have Joker in the second half of the year that can passively keep the album afloat for a good bit (as long as she brings the quality). Chromatica opened with 274k, 205k of those were pure sales. I remember someone here doing some calculations (I think @Pop Art?) and finding out that about 30-40k of those were from the tour bundles. The market is obviously much worse now so I don't see her selling as much. The album also did 87M on-demand streams with a big hit and some help from the blinks.
