Gaga really doesn't get enough credit for how important ASIB's soundtrack was to it's success as a film. The music had to be good enough to be believable that it would turn Ally into a star, and it totally is. It's one of the reasons why these types of films often don't work (for example Vox Lux, aside from being a bad film it just isn't believable that songs that awful would be that popular in this alternate universe in the movie where the main character is a huge star)... not only did Gaga totally nail the acting in ASIB but the soundtrack really helped make ASIB the modern classic that it is

I loved hearing her talk about other films in the race during the HOG press tour. I vaguely remember her stanning Andrew GODfield's Tick Tick Bomb. I need them in a film together. Their 2009 photoshoot is one of my all time faves from her.

I can see her checking the movies and performances with most hype during awards season but definitely not everything.

whew i LOVE this demo. More songwriting excellence that's not watered down by too many cooks for LG7 Gar!

obvious TG aside, i just know Gár voted for the superior BA performance this year, ms Cate Blanchett, who was rightfully robbed of her record-breaking 3rd Oscar win

RIP Shallow @ Grammys via Gar's YouTube. After it was deleted from there it was accessible through LQ uploads. Now it's nowhere to be found at all. WHY? It's so good. Was there some sort of copyright violation with it being uploaded to Gaga's channel? The same way we have to go trough 19 different steps to watch her best performances.

her most recent Dom Perignon was a dead giveaway that she was more of a LydiaNation stan, her ballot was probably something close like this

Whew the excellence  

 

Makes me hope that for LG7 Gar is taking her own advice of being more in tune with herself artistically. Her last 3 albums have all had external forces change her vision (AP- label wanted it more GP friendly; J- bringing in BP to “modernize” it; Chrome- her main producer telling her straight up her work didn’t sound like his preconceived expectations of her).
 

Gar’s first 3 (and best) albums, alongside ASIB, were completely HER vision and the proof is in the pudding. The woman is clearly a savant & musical genius and should be working with producers who will cultivate, translate, and execute HER unbridled artistic vision into the final product. Not the other way around
