I don't see anything weird about it. Not being a single at all? Now that would be weird. The backlash build up began with the Alejandro MV, it continued with BTW but she was the biggest star at the time so it wasn't noticeable until Judas. There's a reason why TEOG spent more weeks on the charts than BTW.

Its simple her fanbase %100 selfish poor messy grindr gays that wont buy physical copies of her songs let alone digital itunes copy yet they’re loud and noisy enough to criticize her musical directions… Thats one of the main reasons she should never ever listen to this fanbase’s needs because they’ll only use the song for a day and then the next they they’ll want something else.

I will forever hold a grudge against this base for letting those vinyl and cd releases flop. I bought ALL of them and love physical releases. Like, how are you a "stan" that posts on GG or ATRLs Gaga base and you won't buy a physical of her lead singles or #1 hits? The only recent vinyl of hers I missed was Hold My Hand.

I don't disagree with you. I think BTW - TEOG or TEOG - BTW would've worked either way, but there was something bigger at play when it came to making BTW the lead single. Sometimes you have to forgo possible chart success for what will have a bigger impact as the latter will help you in the longrun.

I wouldn't really change the singles, but the fact that MTN would be one of Gar's biggest smash/signature hits if it had been released as the lead or second single from BTW. MTN you will ALWAYS be famous to me

Agreed. Gaga has an excellent discography and her recurrent streams prove it. A song like Bloody Mary doesn't almost go Top 40 more than a decade later if you have a "dated" discography.

 

Even if Gaga doesn't have an 80+ score on Metacritic, her albums are still acclaimed. ARTPOP is her only studio album to receive some form of critical backlash and it still resulted in a metascore in the 60s. Chromatica was also only 1 point away from 80.

 

For someone so liberal, Gar sure does have a lot of MAGA Liddos.

It was obvious Gaga was trying to have her Like A Prayer moment with Born This Way, by having an Express Yourself esque lead, then religiously controversial Judas. It was just too early in her career for it to have the same impact and actually hurt her more
