Yeah there's this claim I keep seeing online that she's some dedicated zionist but it looks more like she's avoided the issue like the plague ever since her pro israel comments years ago and performance there caused a backlash. Her team had those comments removed and she's never mentioned the country again or visited there. She works with and is friendly with people who are zionist but also the same for people who are anti zionist. Like if she was some massive zionist she wouldn't be hugging Rachel Zegler and Ariana or praising Billie. She's definitely a coward for not saying anything but so is Taylor, Beyonce and most pop girls tbh. Our faves can't all be like Bjork and Lorde unfortunately.

Yeah, I think it's great to live in a bubble of idealism, but at the end of the day, she's still a massive pop star, an actress, and so on. Any statement she could've made would probably have been some vanilla "killing is bad, peace is good" lmao and it still would've angered someone. Is it sad? Absolutely. But that's the reality of the world we live in :deadbanana:

And as you said, just like supporting palestinian liberation doesn't mean supporting terrorists like Hamas, being friendly with people who believe Israel has a right to exist doesn't mean supporting the killing and devastation of thousands of innocent people, the action of the government etc etc. So I wouldn't make assumptions about what she thinks, it's probably more a PR-thing than anything else. Again, sad but It's a reality...

Yep and all the evidence points to it being PR or just fear related. Gaga used to be way more politically vocal and then she was deemed "too political" and it harmed her career. Her career affects more people than just her she has to maintain a relationship with her label and many other companies she works with. She's not stopped being political but she's obviously been more careful and selective about it ever since artpop. She still sticks up for trans people for example but she doesn't do it in a provocative way anymore. I'm not even saying this is a good reason because I think justice should come first but it's one I understand. Look how Zegler was treated and painted as having ruined a whole movie and the liviloods of everyone who worked on it because she did a tweet. That was unfair and ridiculous obviously but that's what the industry is like.

I do think the more people say something though the harder it would be for israel and the US to maintain this. South Africa had to stop because enough people turned against them. So sure Gaga alone can't do that much even with her huge platform but she and many others can do something they aren't doing. I'm fine with reasonable criticism of her for that I just don't like the conspiracy theories.

What do you mean declined to comment? As in she/her team knew this article was being written and didn't stop her song being used for ******* genocide propaganda? She should know better and whoever is responsible for ignoring that email from RS needs to be fired immediately. We need to blow this up so she's aware of this.

Girl it's not like she can tell them to stop writing this article, how much power do you think she has? :rip:

Lady Gaga can absolutely tell a music publication to stop any story, she's one of the most powerful women in the history of that industry. :rip:

Besides that though, instead of declining to comment she could have done the bare minimum and point out the obvious that the song has nothing to do with the bloodthirsty delusions of isntrealis, and is in fact just a love song.

Girl get your head out of Gar's ass, she isn't that powerful, publications can release anything they want. The US isn't North Korea yet

They reached out for comment on a strange and repulsive reading of her beautiful love song and she didn't respond.

Aside from the fact that the article is completely unhinged, what exactly did you expect her to say? It's a song, did you really want her to put out a statement stating the obvious? Something like, "No, it has nothing to do with that terrorist attack, f you, I hate you, boo boo"? "It's just a love song, you suck!"?:suburban:

Literally all her team had to say is that the song was not inspired by any global events. She didn't need to write a political manifesto. :1878188721_deadbanana2z-Copy:

I sincerely doubt Lady Gaga would be a Zionist because it would go against everything she stands for. This is a case of a PR person being lazy or malicious and we need to make Gaga/the Haus aware of this so they can be FIRED. No excuse for somebody with a full public relations team to let this slide. She employs people to make sure exactly this doesn't happen.

Yeah, but it's just a song! It can mean different things to different people besides its original meaning and inspiration. Gaga would probably say something like, "It wasn't inspired by any specific global event, but I'm glad it can bring comfort to anyone who listens."

And honestly, y'all know damn well that's exactly what she'd say.:suburban:

Bruh thank god your name is sheep because your posts are giving sheep

if she would've said anything it wouldn't have been enough.

shes not a politician. Look at all those celebrities that came out for Gaza, is the war over? Stop being delusional. This isn't 2012 when a pop star can get on a stage, get media coverage, and move the needle. Our news is too cynical

A major publication published a strange and offensive story using her art and her name and her likeness to promote a genocide, which she had a chance to get out ahead of and deny. Nobody is asking her to make a grand political statement.

The real sheep are the people who want to mistake my disappointment in her team as personal criticism because nothing with her name on it can ever be wrong. Read the article. It's very disturbing and bizarre.

A comment about how the article is dead wrong sure would have painted the delusions of the writer in a more realistic light.

Babe, you must be new here. If they didn't comment on Ritchy's abuse allegations, what makes you think they're going to say anything about someone randomly connecting a song to a terrorist attack?

I agree with you, that article is ridiculous but it's not the tragedy you're making it out to be. The real tragedy is what's happening over there, where people are being killed every day for no reason other than pure evil. Let's focus our energy on that.

That still isn't stopping the article from being published, and I doubt it. Can you now go to a palestine thread instead of this one? I am so sick and tired of seeing delusional people writing about how comments from (mostly uneducated) celebrities will change the genocide. Do something useful please

let's calm down, a PR statement denouncing relation to Zionist propaganda is a good thing and the bare minimum from her team, actually. need y'all to have a bit more spine.

that her silence on this could further fuel the "Gaga is a raging zionist" theory hasn't crossed y'alls minds either.
