Stupid love was a terrible choice for a lead, almost as bad as Perfect Illusion... Both alienated the GP and lowered the casual interest. But I still use PI from time to time, SL is just dated on arrival, no retribution for it

As much as I kinda despise Stupid Bomb nowadays, it definitely made more sense than PI as a lead single - despite the latter being the much, much better song

What universe are you living in? PI debuted top 15. SL debuted top 5. They're not comparable.

Stupid Love also suffered a lot from the leak to be fair. I was obsessed with it when it leaked but by the time it was officially released I was already kinda over it

 

Maybe I'm being delusional but I think it might've had a good shot at a #1 debut had the leak not happened

Yeah, I’ve always argued SL wouldve been a top 3 debut without the leaque. 

Joanna made me a full time Gaga stan back then. It was my first era experience as a fan. I will always have all the memories I made during that era and it‘s making Joanne so special to me. It‘s still her worst album but not bad at all (except Angel Down)
