Honestly planning the trip in Arnhem is a nightmare. There are no accommodations left to even support the concert. It’s no wonder it’s not selling.

If HMH was going to be a legit hit, it would have started by now. And awards season didn't really give a major boost to NTTD, Be Alive, All the Stars, that Rocketman song, etc. Shallow, the exception and not the rule, was able to grow the way it did largely because it is undeniably incredible. People loved that song and still do. HMH is leaving a lot of people relatively cold and it would take an Italian Mob Miracle for it to have a huge revival during awards season. Apart from AC, it's gonna be over in a matter of weeks and it will perform at best slightly better than SL (in terms of units) long-term, and at the rate it's going at...

Maybe not as big as DWUW and some of the other Artpop shenanigans, but I’m talking bigger than not making ARUTW a single big. The song and especially video have close to zero quality and she wasted all of her post-ASIB hype on that shite, it rlly does piss me off

Hold My Ass did what it needed to do and it won't grow anymore. I had higher hopes considering how huge Top Gun is, but eh...

The most offensive part about it was how Apple basically gave them all the money in the world to make an MV and they made *that*.  

She definitely shot the ROM and 911 MVs on a fraction of the budget for SL and yet they are infinitely better.

911 definitely has bigger budget, all Stupid Love had is costume (which 911 has more and more expensive), one location production (911 has 3), some cheap vfx, Shot on iPhone (definitely cheapr than professional camera).

Baby, HMH underperforming doesn't excuse SL's unprecedented bombage. SL peaked high first week then kept going down and down until it exit all charts within a few weeks, it never grew weekly OR attained new peaks in 5th/6th weeks like HMH is getting around the world rn. And no, HMH actually started pulling 1M daily on its own without TTH  yes, it's not connecting with streaming audiences (especially in the US) but it's still stable on sales and pulling 800-900k daily YouTube views which indicates a stronger resonance with older audiences. I can also guarantee you that it will NOT be deprecating to 130k daily streams after 2 years (which is really embarrassing for a studio album LEAD with radio deal + massive streaming campaign). Feel free to bookmark and revisit.

 

The point being, comparing a studio album lead vs a soundtrack single just doesn't make sense anyway since like you yourself said, most soundtrack singles don't become smashes and HMH has outcharted/outperformed 90% of them already.

Maybe you focus too much on Stupid Love, which is understandable since it is the lead. Maybe Gaga didn't want to make the best song the lead and was aiming for a long era with the better videos and singles later on but the virus ruined her plans and motivation to put it into fruition.
