I agree. I'd say all her previous eras generated more polarising reactions, initially. The response to BMS has been overwhelmingly positive compared to Formation, Deja Vu, Run the World, or even Drunk In Love.

They're probably basing it off the fact that Bey's haters are constantly monitoring her every move and praying on her downfall but let's not forget that's been ongoing since the beginning of her career and she's still completely smashing it after 25 years.

it aint a bey lead single without a lil controversy. we got a cute little talking point with the "release your job" stuff, but that was pretty tame in comparison to the conversations around her other leads

Award shows are prehistoric. So are the Grammys, but she'll most likely perform there next year. As for now there are endless ways she can perform by partnering up with social media apps like TikTok for a live stream or even Apple Music. She could also do a special for TV.

Here goes nothing.

I feel like there might be a hold up with the video because Beyoncé doesn't think she's fully "snatched" yet.

The last time we saw one of her candids, she still looked a little larger than she usually is during her album eras. Instagram is Instagram and it's been proven that she does edit her pictures from time to time.

I feel like the video may have been shot, but she might not feel like she's 100% there yet body wise. The single cover looks like it may be from the video shoot so I'm thinking this was one and done a while back.

Nah…we all know Bey is not opposed to some subtle post production magic to look snatched. Black is King is a prime example of it done tastefully.

Spoiler

Certain scenes in Countdown legit looked animated….Or like they put her head on someone else’s body.

Can't lie, this crossed my mind too.

On the one hand, like you said, still pictures (including the Vogue shoot, album cover etc) can be made into whatever they need to be. Either by way of wardrobe or other...enhancements. Real time movement is a little trickier.

As a fan of Bey, Janet and other girls, there is this tried and proven tie-in with them getting into "game time shape" at the onset of an era. So, what you're saying doesn't feel all that far fetched.

HOWEVER...

There are a few things that still have me thinking this is all playing out the way it was supposed to.

BMS pretty much came out around the time we saw those candids. Almost as soon as it came out, one of her new choreographers was on IG asking for female dancers that could vogue for an LA shoot. It all felt urgent and imminent.

As such, if it had anything to do with BMS or even another video, it would be the same Bey in those pics that would be pop, lock, and dropping it on that set.

Also, and I don't feel we've dared to "go there" convo-wise, but Bey actually has already done thicker visuals. I remember being pleasantly surprised with how much of her "new" body she bared in BIK. It was very refreshing to see her own it and still be "Beyonce" (FYB). I also noticed her strategic coverings too (Water).

Both approaches made it clear that she could easily do another curvier visual album and no one would blink an eye.

All that said, it ultimately comes down to her personal comfortability. As a performer who takes more of an athlete approach, I could definitely see the plausibility of what you mentioned in your post. At the same time, lack of promo aside, a lot of this era feels like it's been planned out for some time.

Tbh she could edit and tweak her visuals like Mariah been doing since MIAM.

im sticking with the theory that the BMS video will serve as the trailer to the Renaissance film.

This was tested with her last visual album rollout. She posted ALREADY at 9PM PST the night the full film premiered (at 12AM PST).

it makes no sense for her to do a visual for a huge side project bomb but not one of her studio albums that sets her up for the biggest reinvention of her career as a new 20's decade beyonce. it's coming soon, maybe late, but not never. the promo-less dried up drought really has everyone losing their marbles but I can only blame giraffe for being uneventful and boring with this unnecessary 6 week rollout when it should have been like 3 max. :giraffe:  I can't believe we're like 10 days from the album and I'm not as excited as I should be like holy fk mama. :deadbanana4:

You are right to an extent, I meant if her numbers are not what is expected. But it could also be the Variety magazine review rubbed me the wrong way.

She was going for duality on IASF. The front is the I am part (Beyoncé) and the back is Sasha Fierce

We love smart stans.

tomorrow is tuesday. exactly 10 days before the album.

netflix released the homecoming teaser in times square (and announced its release) 10 days before it premiered.

so literally any day starting tomorrow, they can (and most likely will) announce the visual component.

that will either come with BMS, or it will premiere with the album like with BIK.

Wasn’t there a conversation earlier with an insider who listed two tracks, BMS being one of them and said their were samples for both? I just got the impression the album was going to heavily sample 90s house.

They said maybe a sample of "Everybody, Everybody", but I think it was because BMS has those lyrics, and maybe that's what they had access to

I'm inclined to agree.

With a Renaissance Film being a near certainty on Netflix, she's limited in terms of what can go on YouTube as I'm sure her deal mandates they all need to throw as much of their collective marketing muscle towards sending people to Netflix to watch the "full thing".

It's reason 101 why I keep saying BMS will be USED as the streaming promo vehicle for the album (on launch) and also to direct people to Netflix for the full experience.

She did a video when she was pregnant for Countdown and hid it very well overall. I don’t buy that as a reason as to why she hasn’t released the video.

Yeah tomorrow really does feel like the next most least random day for her to announce something. Not holding my breath on that though.

I also agree that a BIK type role out with the BMS as the teaser for the Renaissance visual experience on Netflix sounds like a very likely set up at this point.  If we get any sort of Netflix announcement, I’ll assume that’s what will happen.

The ONLY reason I will entertain this is because DURING the DOCU footage in Homecoming she made a big deal about being healthy and staying fit, including watching her weight closely (I learned from mom, im down 200lbs since 2020) so I'll allow.

She could just edit the video to slim herself down. She's not so self-conscious she would just totally forego a video :rip:

I think @yonséis right and BMS will serve as the visual lead in to the full length film. She was able to drop Formation because it wasn't narratively tied to Lemonade and they used it as an epilogue of sorts. If BMS is part of a story - being track 6 and all - it would be a major spoiler.

Oh ok! Let's go :clap3:

We’re living in a digital age where videos can easily be edited to fit a certain aesthetic or look and y’all really think that her body not being “snatched” is the reason for us not getting a video?  :coffee2: Ridiculous

Beyoncé  better hurry up and drop this trailer or something cuz some y’all are starting to develop worm for brains at this point.

I can't see her weight being a reason as to why there's no signs of a video yet. Y'all are acting like she didn't do a phenomenal video for Countdown while pregnant and it's not like her body can't be manipulated or edited digitally. As others have pointed out, it's probably because it heavily ties into some sort of storyline that will be expanded with the rest of the album.

In any case, I'm almost positive we'll be getting something this week whether it be a trailer, announcement, tracklist or music video.
