EXCUSE ME? 

A podcast interview from Sean Garret popped up on my Spotify. The opening verse from Diva was his diss towards The Dream: "Stop the track, let me state facts. I told you gimmie a minute and I'll be right back. 80 million round the world said that I couldn't get it…" then the lyrics change in the demo. He originally wrote the song for a female group out at the time but felt they weren't big enough so then he gave it to Beyonce. 
 

He's very billboard hit focused. When he battled The Dream on Versus Instagram battle in 2020 he believes The Dream ain't got hits like he does because Sean has 18 #1 hits and 5th overall for every writer/producer. He also said Bey is very giving behind the scenes. 
 

I'm team The Dream

 

The Dream has the ability to push Beyonce to new heights. Sean is kinda basic and limited because he's only focused on making a radio hit.

Personally, I would LOVE if she went with a truly GLOBAL album for B10. The trilogy focussed heavily on recapturing former Black Genres in the US. I think it would suit Beys brand if she were to focus on creating a truly cheerful and joyful album that focusses on different cultures and music. Think MJs Black and White music video, but more sonically.

I would love to hear her on a "Bollywood"-inspired Indian track, an Arabic ballad, another Afrobeats-Anthem (or Ambipiano bop), a Brazilian Funk song that is sexy af and makes you twerk, a Flamenco song featuring Rosalia, a Chinese inspired ballad, etc.. If there's a person who could do each genre justice (vocally and choreo-wise), it's Bey.

If she were to time it correctly, she could release it in the beginning of 2028, right on time to perform it during the L.A. Olympics. A last, truly GLOBAL era that just smashes all around the globe.

Its so odd, after Renaissance it felt like Bey accumulated so much goodwill, it basically was guaranteed that CC would open with great numbers.

Now, however, it feels like Bey has lost so much of that momentum and goodwill, which is backed up by the fact that her streaming numbers are straight up terrible atm... I personally dont feel confident going into Act3 anymore, especially if she continues her path of doing nothing but releasing a lead single and the album 5 weeks later..

Ill be glad to be proved differently tho

I don't care much because she'll still get a number 1 album where she needs to. A number 1 single I'm not too sure on, would be great to do the double with all 3 acts but we'll have to see

I'd love it too. The Hive gets mad whenever I say this, but she felt at home with R&B. She was truly in her element with 4.

 

By the way, despite its low peaks, Love On Top is a true classic, especially for those R&B lovers.
