RiRi is #13 (!!!!!) On the global artist page despite not having released an album in pretty much a decade while Bey is somewhere in the 80s despite Rennie "only" being 3 years old and CC just well over a year old.

Bey simply doesnt compare nor compete with RiRis appeal. And thats on that. Be real about it.

Cuff It and Texas Hold 'Em were both majorly viral, and the success of the songs can certainly be attributed to their virality.  Diva was pretty viral and had a nice resurgence, although it didn't top Breaking Dishes, it made some noise

 

 

the way there's no clear reason why these albums are "acts" there's nothing connecting them except a horse cover... the tour visuals imply the music videos will connect them but we have to wait years to get them? Miss Tina famously came for Disney for not promoting black is king (even though they did... only so much they can do to support a project for a movie that came out a year prior.. beyonce only promoted the album with an insta post), so clearly engagement was lower than expected so why did they think making people wait longer for this project was a good idea...? Looking at IMDB Nadia literally paused work for 3 years assuming to help create this project.. not to mention all the other creatives waiting around, probably banking on their work being featured in a Beyoncé project, didnt the woman who did the Renaissance cover look get notified last minute as well? Imagine spending 40 hours to meet a week deadline only to hear crickets for the next 4 years.

 

I know the tour was booked years in advance but if she needed more time, I would've preferred a Mrs Carter type show and just delay the albums by another year so she could release them with visuals side-by-side (for CC it wouldve been cute to have a new video every saturday like an old western tv show). THEN do another world tour for CC and Renaissance together

Like I said a page or two ago, she needs to go FULL POP to win the geepee over. Y'all begging for r&b hits while also begging for streaming hits. Yes there are modern r&b hits but not if Beyoncé is singing it. Rihanna is successful because all of her music is catchy pop. She doesn't slow the beat, she doesn't mix two songs together ruining the entire track (for some people), and she isn't dragging songs out past 4 minutes. Her music is consistent from play to end. Beyoncé isn't doing that anymore.

Now if divorcing Piqué did that for her career, imagine what the same thing would mean for Bey. It would be what Shakira is experiencing times 5.

I truly hated when he called out Beyoncé not winning album of the year at the grammys, even she looked annoyed... then she won and the conversation became "it's because jay z complained last year"

Besides Queen Teezy, I don't think anyone should disagree with this take? Every major popstar THRIVES off of a break up anthem. That's why they loved Lemonade. And I would even argue that people don't restream Lemonade nowadays because she didn't end up divorcing him and proceeded to make a collab album and tour. It kinda makes Lemonade feel manufactured/pointless. 
 

With that said I am Jay hive. He annoys me greatly but I like him when he keeps his mouth shut  . I remember during the MJ vs Beyonce drama some time after Homecoming, he went on twitter spaces with Alicia Keys and randomly started dragging MJ saying he could never do what Beyonce did and Alicia didn't know how to respond and it was so awkward. He always sets her up in one way or another. But despite all of his issues he is still one of the least problematic rappers out there lol.

I really think messages like this is where this parasocial thing goes way too far. You are literally talking about the father of her 3 kids, the love of her life..someone who BEYONCE herself said has been her biggest supporter and her rock for things none of us even know about and you worried about billboard charts and BOTIfy numbers?

Some of you live in a fantasy world.  I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  She is not a Barbie doll for you to play with.  She's a real person with a real life outside of her public image and career... 

 

Beyond that, y'all talk like she's a Normani-level flop.  She's 30 years into her career, and she's still one of the most famous people on the planet.  The name Beyoncé will reverberate through history, whereas some of these pop songs you're desperate for her to have will be forgotten.  She has built a legacy that goes beyond her hits and her chart success.  Which, by the way, is massive on its own.  She's one of the best-selling artists of all time.

 

She's not beyond reproach, but sometimes it's as if your boredom makes you think she should be living her life to entertain you.  There are so many other artists and avenues of entertainment. Just enjoy something else until act iii.

Theres a fine line that I personally do not cross that needs to be understood and read accordingly:

 

Im not saying Beyonce needs to divorce Jay. That would be sick because who am I to say that. Its her life, her choice, and if shes happy, more power to her.

 

What im doing is just semi-factually assessing her career atm (and you are obviously welcome to counter me):

It is true that most of the bad press Bey gets is due to Jay (the Diddy accusations, the Grammy debate, now the Casino thingy, etc).

It is true that Beys broad appeal cannot compete with RiRi.

The way the GP sees Bey is as a very respected performer and a generational talent, who is extremely rich (an image she pushes) and thus detached from regular folk. Because of that, a lot of people see her act as performative and not believable. Since her art is political in some ways, her not going in 100% is also critically seen as fake as well. Its basically the idea of "ok so you can speak about xyz, but you refuse to speak on abc", so her political stance is severely questioned. Shes the definition of controversial in this regard, and she chooses that for herself (again her prerogative). I would even argue that Bey is not seen as likeable by the GP, but thats more interpretation.

Factually tho, it results in her general appeal not being high. And it shows in her streaming power or lackthereof:

She spikes a lot interest initially which is a direct result from still having a strong fanbase + her reputation as a respectable musician + her prowess to create hype.

However her lack in streams imho has a lot to do with her image. 

And while these highs and lows are normal between cycles, i personally find it noteworthy that she's decreasing more and more between eras despite releasing new material quite frequently. Sure, age is one aspect, but theres certainly more to it. And im just pointing that out.

 

(FyI: i belong to the 0,01% users that stream her most, so theres no malintention on my part)

The base is still full of unhinged commentary per usual I see

 

Always happens when Bey is on break because some of you lose it not having her "active" to have purpose in your life & live vicariously through her. 
 

The echo chamber also in here is also interesting but let yall tell it Bey is currently being tarred and feathered over that Reform dinner. Meanwhile it made no noise in the real world (if you go outside) and was quickly forgotten on social even by bitter ass stans of other artists and the regular haters.

The real complaint that should be focused on and heard the most needs to be with Shop Beyonce

 

Some of the issues I've been seeing is absolutely terrible customer service and easily avoidable mishaps. 
 

The shop has never been perfect but I think swapping the era around really highlighted deep issues with logistics, because some of the merch I'm seeing delivered and it's quality, yikes. 
 

Economy is crazy to be playing with peoples money. Especially core fans that actually buy.
