I've said for a while that legs is taking Bey's ideas and elevating them.

I get the frustration. 

 

It's quite constant: Bey sets pace with something innovative, and others come behind her and build on the concept. 

 

Typically, I'm rarely bothered with it, as the quality of Bey's actual output makes any imitation of the format/marketing (e.g. "the surprise drop") still never hit "as" hard as when she does it. 

 

With certain acts, though, particularly TS, it admittedly does irk me because she:

 

a) has the scale of popularity/Becky bias that almost instantaneously positions whatever she does as "best", "better", and leading of the pack.

 

b) will smooth over any cracks of Bey's rollout/concept and admittedly do it way...neater. 

 

c) pairs it with the type of promo that ensures it sticks

 

Even with this Acts thing. A few lesser-tier artists have attempted it since Bey to no avail. But I just know it's inevitable that a TS, Ariana (who I like), Adele (who I also like), and similar will do it and, for example, have videos ready to go lmao, have the right deals in place to ensure it slays, and not have the cloud of confusion around wtf is going on. 

 

All of this said, I "think" I prefer Bey's position as a disrupter first and foremost. It could (and at times) absolutely should be tidier, but she'll always be in those conversations (about innovation) because she's often the one starting it in the first place.

The problem is that she has 0 appeal with gen z, who are the main consumers of music in this age whether we want to admit it or not. She doesn't play the streaming game to gain a new generation of fans. She gets big debut numbers because of her older long time fans that grew up with her, but those older long time fans don't treat music the same with this younger generation does (ie listening to whatever is trending on TikTok, plastered on Spotify playlists, etc). And then there's the obvious of her not promoting and making herself invisible in an era where you have to do the most for people to listen to you.

They have no business together. Ivanka is actually buddies with michael rubin. That is a fact not an assumption. Hence she thanked him for the invite to a charity event that raised over 25 million dollars for criminal justice reform.

On another, non-nagging note:

 

Im listening to so much DIL (the album) as of late and i cant get enough of it. It literally has been 15 years or so since i touched the album in full, so i feel like im listening to it with new ears, and its AMAZING!

 

Crazy in Love = legendary evergreen 11/10

Baby Boy = bop of bops, still sounds fresh af 10/10

Naughty Girl = aged like the finest of wines, probably the biggest standouts after CIL on the album for me 10/10

MMAI = RnB CLASSIC 10/10

Be With You = very lush and groovy RnB. Doesnt reach the highs of MMAI, still great regardless 8/10

HipHop Star: one of the weaker tracks for sure, but its bearably bad lol 5/10

Yes: Cute song, but not a standout 7/10

Signs: Phew, Beyonce took the "she can sing the Telephone book and it would sound amazing" to a whole new level by just singing astrological signs, but this is such a bop to me still! 9.5/10

Speechless: the original sex anthem, the founder of founder. Without her, there would be no Dance For You or Rocket. 8.5/10

Thats How You Like It: Another weaker moment, but it doesnt hurt listening to it. It's just very basic tbh 6/10

The Closer I Get With You: Very traditional RnB, sounds quite dated in 2025, tho i commend the legend that Luther is 7/10

DIL (song): the album Version sounds a bit dated (i loved the way she made it modern during RWT), but still such a good track! 9/10

 

Overall score: 8.4/10

It just hit me that Bey and Jay looking into moving to the UK probably means that Act3 will be highly political, and given the current government, Bey probably wants to be safe.
