The problem is that she has 0 appeal with gen z, who are the main consumers of music in this age whether we want to admit it or not. She doesn't play the streaming game to gain a new generation of fans. She gets big debut numbers because of her older long time fans that grew up with her, but those older long time fans don't treat music the same with this younger generation does (ie listening to whatever is trending on TikTok, plastered on Spotify playlists, etc). And then there's the obvious of her not promoting and making herself invisible in an era where you have to do the most for people to listen to you.

what's really sad is the fact that Ren did bring in a lot of younger people and people in general who either never really gave bey a chance or who jumped ship after Lem. And then she drove all those people away again with this long ass messy yeehaw cosplay era :rip:

and now she's stuck with : her core audience (mostly the r&b stans) who don't **** with her like that anymore, gen z who thinks she's a blood thirsty murdering diddy accomplice, the left who sees her as a greedy capitalist MAGA and the right who sees her as a white people hating terrorist… the way she kinda turned every big facet of society away from her :toofunny3:

granted all of this can be more or less reversed with a quick pop/r&b cash grab album and an effort to build up some goodwill. but i don't see how a potential rock/funk/jazz album full of yayas that will be accompanied by another messy, uneventful era will bring those people back… And we all know she's not gonna do something cute and accessible or for the masses or do intense promo either so it's just gonna be limbo from here on out ig

You are absolutely right with ur analysis tho. There should be no universe in which Bey is below a Katy Perry on the Global Artist Page on Spotify in 2025, and yet here we are. (Bey is at #90 in todays update, only 1.5 years after CC :rip:)

Her image is, for a lack of better words, dogshit atm for the reasons you listed. And image is EVERYTHING in the age of social media.

It's so unfortunate how tiktok was eating up Renaissance and keeping the era alive only for her to do nothing with it.

Theyll be back on her side when Schoolin' Life goes viral (that choreography she does is perfect for people to replicate)

Its time for her to leave Jay so that Me, Myself, and I can get its revenge and become the #1 song it always deserved to be, now how about that?

and this is funny considering she was stable in the top 70 for months and in just 3 days she dropped down to 90 :rip:

lemme find out her sitting with Ivanka did damage on her already terrible streaming numbers yet that d4vd creep gets a boost for allegedly murdering and likely r-wording a child :rip:

It would be smart for her to release another ACT after these concept albums that aligns more with her typical sound to reign some of those R&B fans back in.  I doubt she'll do that though

Also, it would be a serve if she went on Jimmy Kimmel, although it's probably smarter for her to be apolitical for a minute

to be fair, idiots kept saying "Wow he spoke about it in his music! take listen for yourself" thus drawing in interest on what he was saying.

She'll be back to #1 on the artists with ACT III Although it'll be short lived lol

Why do y'all want an r&b album so bad? She does it on every it on every album. R&b is limiting. What is she gonna talk about that's gonna make the people tune in over slow jams?

She needs to go full pop if she wants the geepee to stream. And not that half ass Renaissance house type of pop. Also become an Angelina Jolie type philanthropist.

We drag her for a lot but we never talk about how CHEAP her public donations are. Hive likes to say that we don't know what she does in private, but what she does in public gives "here, damn." LA wild fires was the last time she donated a decent amount (2.5 million). Mind you The Rock who is worth less donated double that to Hawaii. Most of the time she throws 50-100k at something once or twice a year and thinks we're supposed to gag. She's a real penny pincher. #THAT backup dancer even made an Instagram post last week with a T-shirt #PayMeMyRate and used Rihanna's ***** better have my money for the post.

so you can understand a full pop album but not a full rnb one

maybe it's just delusion, but I feel like people will come around one way or another. The discography and the performances are a bit too good. Personally, there's something really cool to me how she just does whatever she wants, and the quality and novelty of her work stays the same. Worst case scenario she ends up Prince'd or Janet'd, but I think the tide is gonna shift, inshallah

I do agree that she really hampered the impact of the trilogy, and it could have been handled better.

Her streaming attrition is significant, and she personally is not so bothered by it (apparently), but it does affect her legacy in the long run. You need to keep bringing people in, and part of creating cultural impact is also... well, people listening to your stuff.

I cannot believe ya'll are asking for a secret act four to an already announced trilogy - which has already been messy and weird. The whole visuals aspect doesn't fit into any solid logic.

Also, I agree that B has lost most of her goodwill and has very little solid support left - that too from her core fanbase. A lot of people have turned on her or are disappointed with her, especially during these crazy times. This has not only impacted her image and perception as an artist - which affects even the cultural conversation she apparently wants her art to stand in (instead of commercial success), but also the entire brand and perception that is Beyoncé. And the trilogy now suffers from that too.

++

Bey still carries a LOT of respect and appeal. Even when she is disappointing and hated by groups, she has their attention. Which is one of her powers.  This means that depending on the music, rollout and messaging of act-iii, a lot could change.

Despite her streaming losses with time, truth is she has had lots of 'commercial' success through the decades and has had a couple of cute hits with this trilogy so far, so it's not as dreaded as it can sometimes feel due to so many comparisons.

The visuals are a sore spot with this trilogy, but also the 'trump' card up her sleeve. Since it is something she's held back and theres confusion and anticipation regarding how it ever fits into her vision - she can obviously deliver and use this to her advantage.

Despite her loss of appeal and her silence and public perceptions over the last year + having a real impact on the trilogy project and her, it is part of what we love about B - she plays by her own rules and has an inner artistic compass that drives her. It has been part of her bolder visions since leaving her dad. Does she mess up? Yes. Does she learn and endlessly chase what she wants? Also, yes. And we know she cares a lot about her 'legacy'. (Tho we should also read it literally as her kids, her business empire and her marriage - so its more than the music.)

100% agree!

I would only add that there is a significant aspect that cannot be understated (unfortunately): As a BLACK female artist, she is more tested and more questioned than her peers. That's unfortunately the case. We always think her legacy is secured, but trust people thought the same about Janet, and look where she is at now - pretty much forgotten.

There's a whole population ready to take Bey down and erase her legacy, if opportunity comes about.

Her unwillingness to nurture her fanbase and thus nurturing her legacy is her choice for sure (I mean money is in her pockets anyway, whether we care or not or whether she flops or not), but I personally hold Bey to higher standards. That's why this handling of her career at this point feels quite disappointing. She always seemed to have studied the ones that came before her, but somehow, she seems oblivious to the development of her career outside the question of "how much money can she make". Disappointing imho.

She doesn't need a forth act, that pile on to how sloppy the trilogy has already been, and streaming numbers aren't really a factor I'd die on the hill of for the simple fact, she could see a huge surge and plum it in the matter of minutes.

The only thing she actually needs to be in the public's good graces is to simply release videos and perform. That's literally it! The music has been the best she's ever released, like no question asked. How the ever, when you're not in the public's eye and only accessible through Instagram and Website post, or 1-2 cover stories every 2 -3 years, it can only sustain the initial shock for so long.

What she really needs to do is simply backtrack by a literal decade and a half. She needs to do a greatest hits tour, but in the vein of "Live at Revel" and "The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour". Some sick choreography she can do, some live instrumentation with an actual good musical director and some next level production and staging that ppl aren't used to or artists aren't willing to spend the budget on. That's what set her apart during the 2010's, which was the last time the general public was actually fully invested in what she has going on.

and make the performance readily available with 2-3 videos on her YouTube page or on a streaming service, and then release the show to streaming. Actually promote in the concert film with a high profile TV interview, just one will do the trick, she doesn't have to interrupt her life and home. Go the extra mile to release a companion BTS film, I know a lot of ppl complained that the BTS footage from RENI film was a highlight, but needed to be it's own separate intently instead of interrupting performances. And no, there's no need for a live album, she has 2 very superb live albums she's didn't promote and no one's streaming anymore, ppl will extract the audio and upload it to TikTok anyway.

That's  another point, UPLOAD THE PERFORMANCES TO TIKTOK! Not full performances, but snippets that make ppl want to actually watch the film, not just photo to show us there was a $15M budget wasted on the most horrible designs 100 people and 30 companies could up with in 6 months.

It's very simple, yet everyone is over thinking it because we're so use to ppl hollering about the damn streams. Bey is almost 50, with three kids and a knee injury, that woman don't give a damn about the streams. She literally happy her fans haven't boycotted her for how sloppy, yet expensive she's been for the last 4 years. She's actively thinking of ways to make fan fair worse by the hour!

If Kehlani, Mariah the Scientist, Muni Long, Coco Jones and SZA can get hits with 00s R&B jams she could easily manage to have a smash with the right song tbh.

It's time for an A-list feature, like Delresto (Echoes).

No she wouldn't.  The reason it never made big news is because they were seated together at an event, not out to dinner - the majority of people are able to understand the difference.....
