I've said for a while that legs is taking Bey's ideas and elevating them.

I mean more power to her. I can't be mad at anyone taking their destiny in their hands, wanting to make big moves and deliver. Taylor truly WANTS it all. I can acknowledge and respect that. Bey simply doesn't have that drive anymore (in that regard at least).

 

It's honestly Bey's "fault"/decision to do her rollouts the way she does. The industry talks no matter the NDAs, which she (hopefully) is aware of, so the card house she builds over the course of 7-8 years clearly loses momentum with every month and year that passes. But that's her decision as well.

Not sure exactly what Taylor is doing because I don't follow her, but how is what you describe an elevation? She's doing exactly what Beyoncé did (visual album) and distributing it via a different channel (cinemas). Let's not make it sound so groundbreaking please.

Fifteen minutes ago, I got the notification from THR about Taylor about taking a secret event to theaters, and I laughed out loud.  Came here to share it, and y'all have known for hours

 

This is a consequence of stretching a concept out over half a decade (or more), and I have to assume Beyonce and Parkwood knew that.

releasing a film for a new project instead of maybe releasing a film for a multi-act album starting from 2022. Taylor is striking while the iron is hot and providing exact dates, Beyoncé is... who even knows at this point

 

The visuals may be different quality wise (taylor could never touch beyoncé creatively), but the execution of these ideas are night and day

it's very very fair for people to feel uncomfortable seeing bey chatting at a millionnaire fundraiser to the daughter of Donald Trump, and to Jared Kushner.

 

In fact, I'd suggest it's a bit bizarre that the sentiment isn't unanimous about it.

 

If any of we so-called stans have an ounce of agreement with the kinds of surface level political and social messaging laced throughout Beyoncé's artistic catalogue, we SHOULD feel weird about it.

 

Its VERY OK for us to have discussed those feelings in this base.

 

We'll still be at the act iii concert singing up a storm. It's ok!!!

 

And the fact some people are holding that discomfort against us is - frankly - weird!!!!!

Whilst I agree, I am also grateful because she can easily pull a Rihanna. She's rich enough to never lift a finger. At least we are getting amazing music and tours (you can't argue she's the best she's ever been).

Absolutely. Its a fine line we walk between being grateful FOR her and her output while simultaneously being frustrated with the fading longevity of this magnifiscent output.

In a way, she's right: her success cannot be quantified. I see a lot of things that are direct results of Beyonce, whether its in fashion, music launching, how she treats her celebrity and own company.

Yet on the other hand, its also hard to argue against numbers and what for instance Taylor is able to pull in terms of interest is nothing sort of incredible and truly far ahead of anyone. It always saddens me a bit that Beys art, however amazing, does not sustain interest in her that way.

I'm screaming. I just stumbled across a post on Facebook from a guy pretending these AI photos of him and Beyoncé are real...

I get you but there is not a single picture of beyonce chatting with that lady. In ivanka's instagram pic, she thanked everyone from REFORM except Jay. She tanked her michael rubin alone. That is because he was the one that invited her and jared to the function. What do you think the intentional exclusion of jay z and beyonce tell you?

 

You can critique beyonce but it is very important to get all the information you need and apply critical thinking skills.

 

Jay z is not the sole owner of REFORM. He cannot single handedly disinvite someone. There are 6 other equal owners

 

Simply apply critical thinking. That is all.

They excluded jay from the post because the kushners AND carters both understand the optics of appearing cozy with each other when at the end of the day all they both care about is making money. This is also why Beyoncé tried her hardest to stop people from recording and posting her performing in Dubai right after releasing an album dedicated to gays

 

Also thinking THEE Beyoncé could just be seated anywhere, even next to people she hates, when theyre running the event is laughable

Watch that word "elevate". To do that they would have to out-execute Beyoncé which has never occurred. The TSwift camp has been borrowing ideas and pushing them out quickly to be seen as the pioneer, but shoddy tour books, poorly-edited tour films, and zero awards to show for her projects is proof in the pudding.

 

Looking back, I don't think you've yet realized that the TSwift camp pulled the "Scooter Braun - Ariana v. Beyoncé Coachella" trick and tried to use Beyoncé's concert film as a comparison piece but failed due to the immaculately-edited final product (even after being rushed due to the AMC leak of information).

 

AMC played dirty leaking that film intel while keeping Taylor's a secret, and Beyoncé pulled the plug on everything: subsequent release to streaming, awards consideration, awards campaign partnering with AMC, everything. With no Beyoncé project to push drama (or "campaign") against in the months leading up to the Grammys, do you notice The Eras tour film was submitted for Best Music Film but didn't even make it to nominations?  I know AMC / TSwift was pissed.

Yes, if it got playlisted. Even when her songs are viral on TikTok, she doesn't get the Spotify push other older songs so pulling similar-ish numbers. A lot of other acts would've done more with Haunted and ALL NIGHT over the last year. Even TYRANT was a missed opportunity.
