It could be that the much larger stage kinda spreads out the crowd better? There's a limit to how many people can attend stadiums in standing areas in the UK because of previous crushing tragedies

Renaissance has been hitting extra hard lately. I took a break from it for a while and wow, it just sounds to rich, iconic, empowering, futuristic and nostalgic at the same time, it encapsules this feeling which takes me back to the Renaissance 'era' but still feels fresh and futuristic. 

Bey was in her creative BAG with that project. 

The same is true for Cowboy Carter but I will have that stanning another time. I cannot believe and process that we are witnessing her at the peak of her craft 30 years in with this trilogy. This woman is just.... different. She's not of this world.

Cowboy Carter album and era, they could never make me hate you

Don't expect her to pop out in London. I'm over it. 

 

All in all, an amazing show! London was lit as ever. The Hive really are thee best fan base. And London really is one of the best cities for Bey shows. Everyone was vibes. It's so diverse, but when your favorite song comes on, you find yourself belting it out with a randomer like you came together lol. Good times. 

 

Now, the show itself. 

 

Solid and pretty much what most of us have seen. My pros are what they have been (the show is iconic, by and large) and the cons are the same too. Sis could and should be moving a bit more. I will say that her seasoned status and choreographed isms create the perfect smoke and mirrors to give *enough* to satiate most on the movement front. She also does kill it on the key dance breaks. It is what it is atp.

 

GAGGED when I heard the opening drums of Lose My Breath into Energy. I got the sense a lot of the people around me haven't seen the show on all the streams, because the moment didn't garner the gag from others in the way it gagged me. But they lapped up the Energy countdown right after. Loving seeing the tour evolve over time, even if it's small but significant moments.

 

As for Sweet Honey pit...

 

Was it worth it? Yes and no. No and yes. 

 

It's factually close, you'll get great footage of her, and maybe even a lil eye contact. Europe also does standing in this area compared to US seating, so that is an added bonus. But, with the stage being higher than usual (compared to past tours), there's an oddness it creates that sees her all at once feel close but far away. There are also several (and I mean several) moments of the show where you flat out can't see her at all, including parts of when she's on the main stage (e.g in the triangle). I don't mean she looks far away, I mean she is totally out of view. Which does not make sense relative to how close the section is to the stage. You can gauge that a lot of work has gone into her giving every section "something", hence the flying and spread outness of the show overall. But premium prices ought to come with a premium experience. And I'm not sure that's what the Sweet Honey/Buckin pits are for this tour. 

 

(Caveat: Having got these tickets with the extortionate presale, I was able to buy them again when they became available at 3x LESS than I bought them for...just without the VIP component...a few weeks before the show. I very luckily managed to sell the original VIP ones. So, while I wasn't as burned by the cost side of things in the end, a combination of the limited view and the fact that many people with VIP lanyards were *behind me* in the same section...indicating that they paid 3x MORE than me. it.really drove home that I won't be doing the presale BS next time. As the moral of the story is that there will always be a way to get the tickets you want. Either on the secondary market or with potential flash sales like I was able to get from Ticketmaster. It's been a huge learning experience. Huge.)

 

Sidebar: I always wanted Club Ho Down and, from the looks of how the show plays out, it actually may indeed be the littest spot. Again, despite ironically never seeing those tickets go on sale (to the extent I thought it was being held for influencers lol), I saw a bunch of face value tickets in that area on reputable secondary market platforms. So, trust and believe, if I don't get it next time via Ticketmaster, this will be the move. Again, no more bloodbath ticket chaos for me lol. 

 

Potentially seeing the show again, this time seated. So, looking forward to taking more of it in from a wide view, as (another slight drawback of the pits is that it occasionally felt like being in the first row at the cinema lol).

 

Overall, notes aside, had an amazing time. 

 

I will say (and pls don't take this negatively lol), I am ready to move on to Act III and whatever companion tour/live experience she is readying for that. This show feels like the perfect companion for Cowboy Carter album, which of course is mellower and more introspective than "business as usual Beyonce". I'm ready for a little more BPM and for her to have room to conjure up something that encompasses all the acts and her wider discography in a creative and all-encompassing way.

Even without having early entry, I found myself at the front and ironcally in front of those with VIP lanyards. 

 

When I think of the price differential (and the fact the "VIP" elements are essentially just early entry, a lanyard keepsake, and some product samples, I am ecstactic that I was able to pull off my switch. Because I'd have felt a way paying so much more when, in theory, I didn't need to.

Ho down was on sale yesterday on TM without VIP. Didn't last long

Can't believe I finally got to see this LEGEND after all these years and it was such a perfect show to see too!!! Truly can't put into words how much this experience meant to me. The vibes and energy during some of the performances are something I truly wish you could bottle because the feeling is truly insane! Will give more thoughts at a later time but WOW

Ugh!! I still have a hard time taking a break from it tbh. Whenever I can't exactly pinpoint what I'm in the mood to listen to, my brain just automatically types out Renaissance on AM without much thought.
