I'm thrilled, but did that feel anticlimactic to anyone else?  All those years, all the conversations, and it finally happened  I think I stopped caring if she won, so when she did I was kinda numb

 

I think it'll feel more real tomorrow

I just woke up and it seems she won AOTY. Wow, I did not see it coming. 

I was a bit confident for Country given how the conversation went and what she did for black artists on the genre. 

 

Prince would have been so proud. He went in 2014 just to see this happening. Sad he couldn't live through this. Whitney as well.

I literally went to sleep last night cause I don't care about these awards all that much and it was at like 3am here. I didnt think they would give it to her

 

Out of her last 4 nominations this was my least favorite but I'm glad her spectacular work is being recognized finally!

It kind of feels like Leonardo winning his first Oscar to me, long overdue.  

 

I don't care much for that award after Lemonade lost, but I know it means the world for Bey and the bigger picture is that it's a big step forward for future black female artists.

Everyone was so happy for her in the audience. We (I) need to stop paying attention to haters. The haters are not her peers (for the most part). Her and Chappell Roan got the biggest "pop" of the night.
