Like, it’s infuriating. People might say we are being nit picky but these are literally elementary level marketing aspects her team refuses to use. Another example is they didn’t even bother re-posting the trailer or poster to her IG stories (which anecdotally I can say I know way more people who quickly tap through stories rather than scrolling on their IG feeds). What is their complete resistance to clearly communicating her music projects/releases?

I know she’s her own woman with her own less than smart ideas but for things like this I sometimes blame the Hive’s mentality for feeding her ego. Comments like “she sold out the tour with only 1 IG post!!1!1!1!!!!” re-enforces the idea that she’s “thee queen” and doing anything beyond a subpar acknowledge of a release is beneath her and desperate looking.

Personally when I say things like that (and I do) I'm not meaning that she is above anything, but that the style of marketing with which she's decided to perform has not meaningfully impacted her to the point that it absolutely needs to stop. So if it's the style of marketing she wishes to do, then so what? I don't think promoting is beneath her, I just think she doesn't want to do it and is fine with that, thus why would I be anything other than fine...again, because her success is still quite massive.

They should do this. She can just send a pre recorded video. An amazing idea

Okay I am stoned not but imagine the power of BEING Beyoncé (or any major celeb really).

Like you know at any moment you could just drop a new trailer and cause havoc.

Or drop visuals, new music, etc. etc. etc. and it'll make headlines in the major news across the world, within an hour, if not sooner.

I think you’re getting her confused with Taylor, who actually promotes, has a deep connection with her fans, has the world/media wrapped around her finger, and tons of commercial and critical success. :biblio:

Whose twitter is this, cause it sounds like one of y’all

I feel like there is a 0.00005% chance she would actually do Hot Ones and I’m going to hold onto that delusion because I would absolutely love for her to do that. Imagine her sweating while Sean asks her about Farrah’s luggage, I would never ask her to do an interview ever again if she gave me this

I never got why people get so mad when Taylor is brought up, they're both big pop stars who like each other. I just ignore fan fights

Why not compare their strategy? I bet you anything her showing up to a Renaissance red carpet would be the biggest promo the film gets (if Beyoncé even does one)

Base is eatin Bey up lately. Maybe I can understand “overrated” if people mean her sales don’t live up to her hype. I guess before I got into the stan world around 2016 my obsession with Beyonce was always how epic of a performer she was. I didn’t know or care about best selling anything but I always figured she was one of the top selling artists of all time somewhere under Britney Spears.

I used to fantasize about her and Jack White mashing up Icky Thump / Don't Hurt Yourself live but that seems like a dream that will never come true now :celestial2:

shes trying to get her song to number 1 because she's competing with Showing Feet in the Racial Chats and Wheelchair Jimmy the Misogynist. this has nothing to do with her movie.

because taylor and beyonce do not have the same brand. taylor is white and largely safe. her music is not risky at all. beyoncé is proudly and vocally Black and quite polarizing with her political stances and song's messages. that alone is going to mean they attract very different audiences. taylor's generalized nature makes her more palatable to more people. if beyoncé did taylor's promotional strategy with her brand it might result in some higher sales, but she will never see the same level of success. its moot to compare them.

I just don’t see the point in comparing strategies since we all know that Taylor’s team is excellent and Beyonce’s is incompetent/does nothing. What’s the point of comparing when we know nothing is going to change? And while I do think T word’s marketing strategy is genius and great, I don’t think I would want Bey to mimic it entirely, as while her silence can be annoying there are some beneficial aspects to it.

(Also I just like tugging on blondie’s wig, nothing personal I just love to hate)
